New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

You find it interesting that I don't advocate for a match with a gigantic imbalance? As much as I like to see the South get beaten like a red head step son it's not beneficial to anyone to hold matches where they're trying to keep the score under 50..

The other NZers on this thread express the same sentiment (even the one who hates rugby as much as you do) yet you and your hissy fitting buddy oddly only seem to be attacking me for it.
I think you're confused me with a different topic. I'm talking a South Island NRL franchise, not the discussion about a North vs South Island..Origin type fixture. I don't think that would work for the same reason Tasmania vs Mainland doesn't, there's an imbalance and no real rivalry.
It's just people seeing blobs on a map.
2 NZ NRL franchises on the other hand..

You responded to a post directly discussing NI v SI.

Furthermore, I've never been anti NZ2, I'm just pro building up domestic league in NZ too.

Silly me, how should I know what I was responding to lol

" the majority of players are from the NI and that's not going to change "
Responded to ^^^^
and opened with:
.." the majority of people are from the north island "

Shows how much union is on the nose these days

Think Auckland fc averaged something like 16k and even helped raised wellingtons crowd average to over 9k

The nrl is missing a golden chance even waiting till 2030

Nz2 should’ve been ahead of Perth. On any criteria nz2 beats Perth.

Seriously, are you that immature you can't just admit you misread the posts and leave it at that instead of getting snippy when I let you know what the actual topic was?

All sports franchisees see massive crowds in their first years and everytime there articles like this... in 5 years they'll be writing articles about what could have caused the steady decline..
Ironically to your point, Perth already did this..Titans.. happens every single time.

It is absolutely astounding that Auckland didn't have a team already . It's like they held it in reserve for when things were going down hill or something. 3 × the next Biggest city in NZ.
But yeah,
It's hard to fathom we only have one team in NZ 🤦‍♂️

Auckland did have a team called NZ Knights/Kingz, they were a founding member of the A League but due to poor performances and crowds (they were shit) their licence was revoked in 2007 and Wellington FC took it over. It has taken an American billionaire who also owns Bournemouth in the EPL to set up a new Auckland team.

So plenty of 3 tickets ?

They had a team originally then the crowds dropped under 5k and I think it moved to Wellington

It’s the shiny new toy at the moment and shows how important hitting the ground running results wise can have a positive impact.
True test will be if they have built up enough of a following that the keep their fans in lean times- kingz and knights couldn’t.
Was listening to a segment on NZ talkback last night that it was seen as an event to go to the Soccer in Auckland even for non sports fans so they’re doing that right at least, however again it’s not as fun if the team is losing and the bandwagon falls away

Western Sydney Wanderers were the biggest story in Australian sport and got 61,000 to a game in 2016.

They now average 9,500.

Only a brain dead f**king idiot would take a one off crowd like the above as anything but a novelty.
Like Prick(mik) Tugonanyman on the Roar and some of the comment's saying both Aucland and Wellington Soccer clubs should leave the sinking ship of A-League.
