How likely do we think it would have been for the Rams - if they were still around today - to have had a Cowboys-style horns jersey? Guarantee you it would have happened.

Rams is such a good name for a rugby league team. I hope if one day Adelaide gets a team again they can revive the Rams name.

100% mate. I’m over here these days and (perhaps selfishly) would love the Rams to get going again.

I’ve banged the drum a bit in here before on this, but there’s plenty of expat qlders and NSW folk over here these days, and I see lots of people getting around in NRL team gear.

While I’d like to see the Reds get back in, I seriously think the Rams would have advantages and benefits over Perth with any readmission. But unlike Perth, there isn’t anyone lobbying here for it that I know. Only know former Sea Eagle Stuart “bugs-eyes” Davis is the chairman for NRL SA.

There’s definitely a market here, but sadly given the financial situation of the NRL I can’t see any return to expansion here in the foreseeable future.

Thankfully the Cowboys have carried that torch proudly.

How so?

If all other clubs (past and present) have logos in there I couldn’t see why that would be an issue. They competed in both SL and ARL, and while I’m no expert in trademark history I thought the Subsequent NRL formation/agreement has all that covered.

I think it’s possibly due to being a retrospective addition to the NRL site where laziness prevented the correct logo being put up.

But according to @greenBV4 they don’t have the other defunct clubs logos there, they’re just left blank.

I bet you that the clubs trademark agreement with the NRL lapses after a certain point, and that the NRL hasn’t renewed the trademark deal with whoever owns each of the clubs trademarks now.

I know for a fact that the difficulty of licensing the defunct teams trademark is one of the reasons why you rarely if ever see official retro stuff made for the defunct clubs.

The trademark for the Adelaide Rams brand was never renewed and its current status with IP Australia is ‘removed’.

Some more very rare perth Puma gear. Apparently they did play some friendlies including against Illawarra under this moniker in late 91, 92 and 93. Wonder why they switched to Reds? Maybe at Panthers request?

No, im fairly sure this was SL.

Sl was originally going to take off in 1996 and the Reds signed in April 95. But they didnt know if they had rights to use the Reds branding in the new comp, so they put together different logos just incase

Wow, i didnt realise Brazil had a spot in the Women's RLWC.

It is a great idea leading with the womens teams. since the Womens WC only has like 6 teams, it would be easier to fill out the extra spots with teams from random locations.

Next should be a team from Africa and one from Asia

I wonder whether the 1999 alternate for the Rams would have been mostly red or mostly yellow?

From memory, they used a plain yellow jersey as an alternate in 1998, so I'm guessing a yellow with red & blue V in 1999.

I'm pretty sure this was worn against Norths, as well Newcastle.

I think they would've either kept this design or what you mentioned blue and Red V.

The decision to move from pumas to reds was made end of 92/beginning of 93 with Reds name and logo being TM’ in ‘93

I just found some cool GC Titans branding on kids gear

I think this would be great for a new official club logo (Clean it up, lean a bit heavier into the 80s style font and maybe put it on a badge)

This ditches the weird greek imagery and lean into 80s nostalgia as, for most of us, that was RLs heyday (for the kids, keep the Blade the titans mascot for gameday and kids-specific branding)

There are plenty of elements within the badge to build jersey designs out of without being accused of killing ANOTHER gold cost club

Rams is perfect. I thought the Chargers was good for the Gold Coast as well. Much better than Titans.

did u see anything above, or do some research? the Perth team was 'around' since what looks like 91, getting ready to enter what was actually the NSWRL, hence some early Reds jerseys having the blue badge
