The thinking behind it (and not saying it was good thinking or anything) was to incorporate the City of Brisbane colours into the kit (which are blue, white & gold)

The blue Nike used was too dark though and the alternate kit was not recognisable as a Brisbane kit.
Neither was having a navy and white home

A rare photo of the Perth Pumas kit. This was in 1991 as the club was building to be admitted to the comp in 1995, this game was against Illawarra. Soon after this the Perth Puma brand was dropped and the Western Reds brand adopted.
The colours remained but were changed into the now historic western reds jersey.
Rumoured change was due to Penrith complaining it was too close to the panthers brand,

Were those photos taken at the former-club Mossie-Cott's home ground?

The one time in my playing career that I was sent off was at that ground. I recognised it instantly ... but can't recall who's ground that was.

All five New Zealand Super Rugby teams will be wearing Classic from next year. Feel they’ve been with Adidas since SR began?

Seems they were all excited to have special themed and heritage jerseys

All NZ teams were with Canterbury think it was the first 3 years before the All Blacks deal with Adidas. Glad they’re finally tapping into the retro idea, the original designs are iconic and well sought after.

We're getting a Mitchell & Ness nostalgia range. Will be interesting to see how they look.
Not just the Broncos.

Looks like they have a deal with the NRL. Broncos were first, Storm have just been promoted and I'm guessing they will announce other clubs in time.

This is what they did for the Essendon Bombers so hopefully we get a similar range as well.

I want them to do a good job of the 1988 long sleeve

I doubt that Mitchell & Ness have permission to make replica jerseys. I'd be highly surprised if Sekem (or whoever it is that produces them now) doesn't have exclusive rights to produce those.

Mitchell & Ness's NRL range will almost certainly just be street wear and it'll probably be limited run as well.

Yeah I doubt it as well - just a pipe dream.

Their NHL replicas are great.

While I can't speak for any other team, I'm pretty sure next year is an 'experimental design' year for Wigan. They tend to have a three year cycle of traditional, traditional with a twist and experimental designs. Been doing it that way for a long time with the exception of 2020/2021 where they had back to back experimental years as they needed traditional to fall on 2022 for the 150th anniversary. This year is traditional with a twist.

I wonder if we will get any one off jerseys for Round Zero in Vegas.

I'd really love a remake of this jersey. Have a white rabbit/opera house outline and a red section below the rabbit and a green one above it.

Honestly, I hope not. If they want brand recognition in the US market, they'll want to go with their most recognisable kits.

What was the story with this jersey?
