As the title says. Discuss.
My personal opinion is that he will be similar to Michael Shannon as Zod in the sense that Shannon's Zod was pretty much a completely distinct take on the character than Stamp's was. Though where Shannon actually looked the part, Eisenberg doesn't.
This is the movie of strange casting choices (Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman) but it is certainly going to be a massive movie. You've already got Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Lawrence Fishburne and IIRC minor appearances from Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe in flashback roles to add to all the other characters i.e. Martha Kent and the two familiars at the Daily Planet.
Throw in Ben Affleck as Batman, Jeremy Irons as Alfred (inspired choice by the way IMO), Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and you have yourself a movie that is going to struggle big time to give every character their due. Seriously, how do you go from Man of Steel - just Superman - to adding in Batman and Wonder Woman for a sequel, plus other attached characters and a new villain?
I can see this being a great movie, but jeez, the potential is really there for it to flop big time.
