Tony Pauline, a respected talent evaluator, has him going late first, but then you have someone like Mike Mayock thinks he's a bit one-dimensional and will be somewhere around mid 2nd round.
He had an outstanding pro-day, running well below 5 seconds for the 40 and being excellent in position drills - he only did 30 reps on the bench press at the combine but he didn't really have to do many as all the teams know he is uber-strong - they were more interested in how he moved and how agile he was/is. There's no point risking injury when he's going to be paid as a footballer and not someone who bench-presses for a living.
What complicates matters is that this is extremely deep DT class, some are saying the deepest in the history of the NFL draft, and things are pretty fluid because of health concerns around probably the most talented prospect at the position in Star Lotulelei. There are other knocks on the other top prospects, namely they take plays off, which is not uncommon with men of that size apparently.
Despite Mayock's concerns there are definitely 4-3 teams looking at him as he played DE before moving to DT this past season. It's probable his pass-rush moves are limited for a 4-3 DE but he hasn't been long in the system and has potential in that area, especially given his outstanding work-ethic and the fact he plays from whistle to whistle. He is more likely to be picked as a two down 3-4 nose tackle however - he doesn't really have the arm length to be there on passing downs, but I guess there have been players who have overcome that (ahem) short-coming to be 3-down players.
Anyway, he will be the first Australian drafted in the NFL in the top 100 since the mid-1980's - hopefully that's just the start of a very long, injury-free and fruitful career in the NFL.
