What are our chances. Saw this on the Roosters website. Not sure if it's a late April fools day joke or what ?? If true, it's not to good for the Jets team to take on the knights this weekend. Knights having been going well thus far as well, and are a team we must play three times during the coarse of the season I think.

Roosters name squad for Broncos match

Debate will rage over the next couple of days with Coach Chris Anderson naming an 8-man bench for Good Friday’s must win clash with the Broncos.

The only two Roosters not to have played first grade in 2007 are Heath L’Estrange and Willie Brown, who force their way onto the extended bench.

There is plenty of competition for key positions in the 21-man line-up, the question is Roosters’ fans: who will miss out?

1. Anthony Minichiello
2. Sam Perrett
3. Iosia Soliola
4. Joel Monaghan
5. Shaun Kenny-Dowall
6. Braith Anasta
7. Mitchell Pierce
8. David Shillington
9. Craig Wing
10. Danny Nutley
11. Nate Myles
12. Craig Fitzgibbon
13. Anthony Tupou

14. Chris Beattie
15. Shane Shackleton
16. Mitchell Aubusson
17. Lopini Paea
18. Heath L'Estrange
19. Nigel Plum
20. Willie Brown
21. Amos Roberts

Coach: Chris Anderson

Still no Soward/Lewis or even Ndaira :x

What are our chances. Any score predictions ?? ;-) Always a worry when the first grade are not going too well, things pass down the line. Big game for the Roosters against Broncs as well, with both sides desperate to win a game.

And with the Bluebags yet to win a game on Aus soil so far this season, (though it's only early), should feel the abscence of these players and it will definately test the rest of the team.

The 8 man bench won't be that much of a problem. The Roosters will ultimately have to nominate the final 17 before kick off and the others will be free to travel to Newcastle the following day.

As for tomorrow, Newtown have an OK record up at Newcastle. I know the players are disappointed by what happened last week and they will want to make amends.

Go the Jets!

What is our record in Newcastle mate. I actually remember us haing more losses up there than wins since year 2000.

I assumed we were playing before the main game. Forgot thwe draw is all over the shop this season. Hope you are right about the bench situation though.

Speaking of the NSWRL . See they have the upcoming games listed in the top right hand corner of their coverpage. www.nswrl.com . Appaently Rabbitohs are playing Bulldogs this weekend. Would piss you off being a bears supporter and making the eight, to be listed by the NSWRL as Rabbitohs. Check it out. I thought they were still called the Bears in 2007.

They are the Bears - but as if the NSWRL would get things right. They have no idea.

The Bears are actually playing Balmain - so they've stuffed up twice.

The PL is the NSWRL's flagship competition and they cannot get the draw right. It says a lot about the goons running the place.

Yeah theyve got Bulldogs down twice. Once to play the Rabbitohs and once to have a bye. LMAO............

So whose gonna win guys and gals.

I 'll say Jets to win in a close one.( Although their record in Newcastle sucks in my memory ) ( Have we ever won a game ?? Maybe one at most there ).

Jets 26
Knights 22

My recollection is that our record is even in the past couple of years and dire before that.

Haven't got a record of it though.

Jets by 6.

I'd say that's cause we DREW with them once up there by memory. I don't think we have EVER won a game up there actually. They r always good against us at home. However we did beat them once last season at Henson 38 to 16. However their home record against us is the same as Canberra. A Big fat Zero I believe. !!

Jets still to win a game on Aus soil in 4 rounds . Apparently knights beat us 36 to 22. Will be minus 18 now and well entrenched in the bottom four on the ladder. Bugger !!

very bloody ordinary display in defence by the jets this evening, newcastle didn't play that well but jets mistakes and missed tackles let them run away with the game.

jets blew 2 tries in the first half, jamie soward set up some good play and put in a screamer of a kick for anthony watts to score,

nigel plum tackled all day, vincemellars pulled off a few huge hits, shaun foley was pretty safe at fullback, the forwards(excepting heath and george) were flat in attack and josh lewis needs an attitude transplant....

Thanks for that CCHB. The game was too far away for me to go to. Was good to see a few Jets jerseys in the grandstand crowds in the background prior to the pre-game crap on foxtel.

Sounds like the coach has got some work cut out bringing this side together as a team.

Sounds like the similar prob's the Roosters are having in firsts. A lot of talented players, that just need to work on some combinations, and they will be formidable again.

From a Newcastle point of view - Mellars scored two tries that should have been prevented by Uate - who will need to find a lot of urgency in defence before he ever makes firstgrade.
I am surprized and delighted at the form of Mark Tuafua who was our best forward for the game in only his 6th game of League after we picked him up from the newcastle rugby union comp where he has been the best player for the last two or three years. He is an amazing natural athlete who is pretty much the strongest and fittest at the Knights and has taken to League like a duck to water.
