Yes it appears to be going well this relationship with the chooks. Promotions like this weekend at the club can only benefit the arrangement. I also like the fact we have some stability in the form of a five year deal. Should be great both teams celebrating the 100th birthday of both clubs in the not too far future.

Well said Greg and a valid point re the quinella b'days !!! Geuss Cronulla did not organise similar arrangements as they more than likely were planning to use and abuse us from word go. Good thing Newtown signed KINGSTON as they would not have him now, ( apart from purchasing a solid forward pack at next to chips as well ) . Though their dumping of MELLARS and Newtowns wisdom at signing him, are paying dividends to an injury depleted Roosters as well, and paying them back with competition points with his playing performances at a time when it certainly counted. ;-)

Jets 20 Eels 18

Looking at the multiple predictions of them scoring only 18 again are looking similar to lotto tkt stuff !!!
But I am still optimistic !!! And remember they have only conceded 20 or more on a MERE FOUR occasions all season, ( TWICE against Cougars !!! And also against the Manly side that cained our arses at Brookie !!! ).................Whereas Jets have conceded more than 20 points in 9 out of their 10 games...... :? #-o

Having said that though.

GO THE MIGHTY JETS !!!!!!!!!!

Sorry guys, just thought the stats may be interesting, even though I don't TRULY believe in stats. But it is gonna be a REAL close one this weekend for us to get over the line and out of Parra stadium in front of their home crowd before an NRL game with the points.....facing a side this strong that do not want to be beaten TWICE in a row.......Yet the jets have not tasted defeat in 6 rd's of footy !!!!!

I think the reigning premiers will win in a tight tussle, but you guys always give us a hard game

I remmember back two season ago when we were on top of the ladder and you guys knocked us off very convincingly

Parramatta Stadium

VB Premier League

Newtown v Parramatta

Kick-Off: 1.00pm

Despite two recent defeats, Parramatta remains the benchmark team in the 2006 VB Premier League competition. This match will be a good test for the Jets, with the Eels looking to regain their composure back in front of their home crowd. There could well be late changes to both Premier League sides depending on how the State of Origin players in both NRL teams shape up for Sunday.

There are no Jim Beam Cup fixtures this weekend.

Thats what I am hearing as well brother. Atleast we came back at them in the last ten minutes. Interesting that went for the field goal !!! Must have been giving them some pressure.....

guess a 15 point loss is not too bad against that side. For and against will still be plus 23.

We will BEAT them at henson later on in the season.

Good effort Jets against this side.

They have not had 26 points scored against them ALL SEASON thus far in any of their games, with cougars scoring 25 against them last week for the victory being the second highest score they have conceded.

Good effort Jets, but their attack is obviously awesome !!!!

No disgrace in that result, especially at parramatta stadium. We will be a good show against them at Henson next time. The season still looks promising.

There was a great turnout at the Jets Sports Club in the evening to welcome the Jets and the Roosters back after the game. The lure of NRL stars was a huge attraction for the younger Newtown JRFLC members who turned up in droves. Well done to Jenny for organising them.

There were also many Roosters fans in attendance. Thanks for showing up and making it a good night. The only time I've seen more people in the jets Sports Club for a Newtown RLFC function was Reunion Night. Not a seat empty in the club!

I didn't stay the whole time myself - would've got a migraine listening to the MC!

How close is the table after that round.

Jets have dropped to 8th spot on the ladder but with the exception of Parra in the lead on 20 points, all other teams are on 16 and 15 points. Jets sharing the 15 points with several other teams, whilst Souths are in 9th spot on 13 points.......

We will definately have to win at the bears expense next weekend........
