My only concern is once again the right side defence where the game was lost
again, I see on the left Peachey and Fisher provide guidance with line speed up and in on the left it appears to be stop and watch, Fallon and Swamy especially have to sort out their defence structure.

Demons right side defence could not stop Betham, he's one of the best centres in the Jim Beam comp. He made some damn good breaks to result in tries. When this bloke is on fire he is dangerous with the ball. Then you have Alan Burns who is back from injuries who also maintained his end with great defence and attack. Cabra has a great back pack but the forwards need to be looked at. Casey Ellis still remains consistent whilst Richie Parker is out due to injuries.
Sam Aiga took over Tippet with the last conversion over to make it 16 all.

The local derby between Belrose and Asquith was played in drizzly conditions on Easter Thursday evening with the Eagles nudging out the Magpies 24-16 in a hard fought encounter. A largish holiday crowd who braved the early shower were treated to some very willing early exchanges in a real arm wrestle which has typified these clashes in recent years. The Magpies were first across the stripe after only 8 minutes in the first visit into Eagles territory, when rugby convert Leroy Houston grabbed a great inside ball to claim an unconverted try. Belrose fought their way back into the match but poor handling and a mounting penalty count against them kept their opportunities to a minimum. It was half back Richie Plummer who eventually broke the deadlock with some neat footy down the right hand side where he handled twice to score a great try which he duly converted.

The next 20 minutes saw Belrose relinquish a couple of opportunities with poor handling, and a lot of disciplinary errors kept them on the back foot somewhat. In a bizarre closure to the half, Asquith equalised at 6-6 with a penalty goal after Plummer then an Asquith player were felled off the ball in the one passage of play. Strangely, Belrose were penalised and put on report. Nevertheless, the stage was now set for a great second stanza.

Belrose coach Peter Camroux called for calm and persistence, amidst the frustrations of lop sided penalty count and the second half was characterised by a more disciplined Eagles outfit.

The half was only five minutes old when is was Richie Plummer again who scooted over for the Eagles to go 6 ahead. It was to be another 20 minutes unto the next score, this time scored by the Magpie's Ben Carney who took advantage of a depleted Belrose line where two players were down after a head clash, to charge over from dummy half to tie the game up again. Belrose immediately hit back with Richie Plummer's trifecta and, with the conversion, the Eagles now had an eight point buffer with just 12 minutes on the clock.

Asquith now kicked up a gear and it wasn't long before winger Jason Mazgay was over in the corner after well worked raid down the right hand side. The conversion attempt hit the upright for Belrose to hang on to a 2 point lead. With five minutes to go, Andrew Needham scooped up a Plummer grubber kick to score beside the posts and the Eagles were able to defend the 8 point lead for the final five minutes. Final score Belrose 24 - Asquith 16

A hard fought win in trying conditions for the Eagles but one that has kept them on top of the table. Richie Plummer, with a stellar three try performance was man of the match, but JIm Curtis was also impressive with a characteristic non-stop effort punctuated with his signature big hits. Winger Jay Johnson and skipper Nathan Hollingsworth were also stand outs.

Belrose 24 (Plummer 3, Needham tries Plummer 4 goals) d Asquith 16 (L.Houston, Carney, Mazgay tries Masters 2 goals)

So one_eyed_demon what is going to happen with the right side defence, you previously said some players were put on notice, Hales did not play but I do not think he was the only problem, the outside backs on the right continuously miss tackles, to win games it has to be fixed. But I guess there is no available quality replacements.
If this sounds a little harsh, it is only because I am now a passionate Demons supporter.:)

The Entrance 14 (R Wheele, R Cribb, A Moore tries, Moore goal) drew with Erina 14 (H Karena try, M Riddle 5 goals).

Alex Moore had a chance to win the game but missed an easy penalty kick. The Tigers would be unhappy sharing the points when they scored 3 tries to 1.

Steve Ekepati did not play for The Entrance. He was put on report the week before in the Central Coast comp, playing his first game after a 2 season retirement, but was expected to be available, due to written evidence from the tackled player that he was hit on the chest not head. But the CC judiciary still gave him one week.

The Bulls travel to Windsor tomorrow night for the match of the round against the Wolves with both teams 3 from 3.

It was exactly the same scenario in Round 4 of 2006 when about 2000 fans turned up. The Bulls won and continued a 10 game winning sequence but Windsor won only 5 more games during a very poor season to finish 5th and saw commensurate reductions in their home crowds.

This is a stronger Windsor side and the prize could be an outright lead in the premiership if Cabramatta can overcome Belrose in the game being televised by Fox.

Brett Sullivan - Backrower played C grade last year for demons has been going real well in A grade.
Nathan Mckay needs greater fitness, only getting about 10 good mins out of him each game, workrate needs to improve
Chris Noble can play anywhere except front row, played flegg as centre/backrower
Todd Fisher out for approx 2-3weeks with hip injury

Windsor vs Bulls
A large crowd turned up to watch the top of the table clash. Jolly didn’t play for the Bulls but they bulked up their pack with Fred Briggs returning from the Bulldogs for his first game this season as was Jasson Asplet, who spent the offseason with Mounties but was cut when Ghosn realised he couldn’t fit all the players under the points cap.

The locals scored first on the back of a penalty but the Bulls held the ball between the 15th and 25th minute and got over the line 4 times but a dropped ball and a held up meant that only 8 points were scored.

Windsor dominated possession for last 15 minutes of the first half and scored 2 converted tries to lead 18-8 half time. The penalty count was 8-3 to the Wolves who completed 20 of 25 sets meaning that the Bulls made 176 tackles to 107.

With DeBartolo playing stand off in place of Jolly and Tom Mansour carried off after 15 minutes the Bulls gave a debut to 3rd string hooker Darren Brown, who surprisingly considering his P/L experience, made a lot of errors and gave away a lot of penalties.

There was no score during the first 25 minutes of the second stanza before Drew Dalton strolled through from a scrum to put Laurie over to go to a 24-8 lead. In the last 15 minutes the Bulls crossed the line another 5 times but added only 2 more tries with another lost ball a held up and the final decision was a questionable offside ruling.

Wrigly, Dalton and Willoughby are playing well for the Wolves and they have a solid bench and a low mistake rate makes them hard to beat.

Belrose vs Cabramatta
Belrose strengthened their line up with the inclusion of Greg Hilton, Todd Barrow, Tim Mortimer and Martin Cook while Cabra included both Chris Yates and Richard Parker together for the first time meaning both teams were on maximum points.

Tries to Hilton and man mountain Jared Warren saw the home team ahead 12-4 but Cabra clicked into gear to post 3 long range tries to lead 18-12 at the break. Each side added to their totals early in the second half but the failure of Sam Aiga to kick more than 1 from 5 meant that the gap had closed to 4 points. A bit of Aiga magic saw Tippett score and convert with his only kick to secure a 28-18 lead.

But rather than consolidating, Cabra allowed a procession of 4 converted tries. Belrose are playing confidently and supported by a vocal crowd and Cabra appeared to suffer from playing a virtual 2 man bench.

Scott Jones made his first appearance of 2007 for Cabra, allowing Don Thompson to move from hooker to full back, where he made several incisive runs but his defence looks suspect.

This result sets up a great clash next week when Belrose travel to Windsor.

There was further good news for Belrose in terms of backup players with Aaron Warren playing in the win over Narraweena in A Grade.

This game can be seen on Foxsports at 4.30 on Wednesday.

The Marlins started strongly, but an injury to their hooker Mitch Muir in the first minute of the game followe by the fullback Ian Catania being injured saw the Marlins with a 2 man bench for most of the game. At half time the Demons and the Marlins were within 1 converted try. The score blew out in the second half of the game. In a losing team
Bryce Poisel and Matt Coehlo played well.

Erina bt Seven Hills 28-6
Demons were woeful, they were flat, lazy, disorganised and looked like they didn't want to be there. Wasn't helped by Micheal Johnson having to pull out before game and other front rower ali trad injured and didn't return after first hitup, Johansen and Gerard played most of the game in the front row.
Erina played solid mistake free football. Wooden and no.12 were good for erina while dave johansen was the only worthy of mention from the demons team.
Halftime was 16-6 to erina.

Honestly the demons were disgraceful,i'm still f%#cking filthy about it, very dissapointing after the performance against cabra last week to then turn up and play like that. :(
