Great counting, Newtown and Belrose I noticed don't have much support this year. Belrose usually have over 200x at their home games. Come to Cabramatta homegrounds, there has been a few games with no other games prior which naturally has huge crowds. Likewise with Wentworthville. As for Windsor losing some great players and have been up and down this last half have lost their crowd numbers. But every Windsor home game was always JAMMED PACKED!
Clubs competing in JBC represents their city and area surroundings, so naturally players from these clubs and family and friends would want to stay and support the JBC.

Always in these forums for too long I see alot of criticism towards JBC. Go deal with your own PL problems and try to fix it. Forever whinging about JBC. One comment I read a year back was JBC getting the glossier and colourful pages on Big League Book, now for crying out loud about JBC being on FOX2?!!!! It's so amusing:roll:
Clubs competing in the JBC have the money to be able to run such a competition. And so good for them, trialling out different avenues. Its all good sports and it involves the communities and the fast and growing young guns. Jim Beam Cup is great for Sydney and its fast growing communitys, I believe its only going to get bigger! ;-)

Wake up farka !!!! Agree with a SMALL part of what you have posted but don't critise what you do not at all comprehend or understand. Newtown owned Metro cup ( Alias JBC ) and have a huger following than any crowd that JBC could possibly ever pull. Our worst EVER premier league side would annhilate any team in that comp by far !!!! Do the math on that !!! Which comp is actually better for an NRL build up and makes BETTER viewing!!!! the one with more talent and as such better crowd viewing qualities ( :-k :whistle =; )

The NSWRL website says Jim Beam Cup is on at 5pm. However it was on at 4pm.

I only remembered at 4.30 so i only saw the second half.

David Tapp was constantly calling the wrong players names for Asquith.

And then he was interviewing David Woods after the game and it was obvious that Tapp had no idea that Woods had only just taken over as coach of Asquith.

Fluked seeing the last part of today's match and enjoyed seeing another competition. Will try to get it taped in future weeks when I'm at work.

It looked like former Queensland Cup referee Adam Neale in charge - is that correct ?

Yes, that is Adam Neale. He's been here for about 3 years. I think he's one of the better referees we have - but for some reason he has been on the sideline this year (and Flegg last year). He has only just re-emerged as a referee again in the last two weeks - both the TV games!

Is it true that the first Jim beam Cup semi final game which kicks off at Leicchardt Oval at 1pm next Saturday btw the Jets and Windsor will be on foxtel. If so is it live, or a delayed telecast ??????????

The fixtures are at KJogarah. I saw a memo last week that said Leichhardt so obviously there has been a change. It will be the usual delayed telecast.

The usual delayed telecast. It's only the second time they ( jets ) have been on foxtel this season. Is it starting to take on a "usual" form now.

( Joking !! ) but for us without foxtel who have to have the game taped by a mate then watch after the result is known. The time of kickoff would be good so I can arrange for it to be taped, and stress the importance of same...LOL..............

REF what happened to putting it on Report or Sin Bin?!!!!!!
Watched the game 2 night the so called Finals for Syd Bulls 13x men and Cabra 12x men down after the 1st 10xmins into the game. The game was a total waste of time and it would've taken Cabra a miracle to win that game.
Great 1st 10x mins with both teams on fire and equal play with both teams going over the line 2x each in the game with no scores.
Felt sorry for Cabra. I've never seen a pre-final game like this one in my life, riggedy ref....??? .... I think that ref needed sending off to be replaced for good!
Cabra's forward Ross is suspended for 1x week so will not be playing this weeks clash for the Grand Final spot against Newtown. Can it get even better?
Sam Aiga and Francis Betham from Cabra still remains injured and no word of recovery for this weekends mighty clash.

I think he was unlucky to be sent off. It probably deserved a penalty. But the fact that he is only getting 1 week suspension shows that it shouldn't have been a send off.

Gerard Sutton (the ref) should be suspended.

:) Yes Ref 'Sutton' shld be suspended, you can't afford to make ridiculous decisions in finals.

However, The game I found was all too strange.
The punishment was too Harsh on Ross and esp. Cabra. It was a Finals and only the first 10x mins of the game. It was Good Luck to Cabra for the rest of the 70x mins left. Willie Brown was hit badly by a cheap shoulder charge from the bulls due to a bad pass from Meighan, knocked Brown out... but 'Sutton' seemed to think that was a Great tackle?.... and it was play on.
I expected an exciting game of footy....
I hope he's not reffing this weekend or the Grand Final. A Total put off.

The Shoulder charge was good, what hurt Ross Brown was his height in hitting Farah in the head. Cabra were very gritty only having an intercept try against them inthe first half and in poor conditions they were always up against it as any mistakes the bulls make you pay.

...   Good one.
I won't even start...

Also as of interest on to another topic, in one of the papers today, noticed a huge complaint from the Penrith Cougars to the NSWRL board about how disorganised and the level of competition for Premier League.
PL finals match against Newtown where Penrith lost. Something about the grounds being Fckd and the clock not working....hehehe Gees I wouldve have thought that damn clock wldve been fixed by now?!. With all this rain it could have done the fields some good. :)

The clock problem was solved. Only the display was broken but there was never time lost. The time keepers were in constant radio contact with both benches. This was OK'd at the time by Cougars officials and John Lang no less. As for the state of the ground, it was passed playable by independent ground staff in the week leading up to the game. There was a lack of grass coverage but it certainly wasn't in the dangerous class of the Olympic Stadium. I think people have short memories. Just 15 years ago surfaces like that were commonplace.

The NSWRl inspected the ground and St George, no issues at all with either, have a look at some JBC grounds poor Belrose have an open gorund and broken glass was found when we were there this year, we just picked it all up and played on. Also player facilities and ref facilities are not up to scratch with JBC teams at some grounds on the coast sharing with 4 other teams.
As far as the coverage goes they make a lot of errors during commentary of players as Girvie mentioned and it is common.

I feel for Belrose only 1 game on TV not a home game and they paid $5,000.00 The Jets let their fans in for free and also for them to bring any signage they wanted as well as their cheerleaders.

The coverage also changes in time and date so if they want to build it they need consistency, people will watch it but they would also watch PL (seperate issue of which I have a lot of real knowledge on) We all just want more rl on tv.
