Maddinson with a stellar knock

Meanwhile I hear there is an opener they left out while they played this dud...

Is there?

I think you'll find they actually picked Hughes over Cowan. Then again, I think you'll find that I'm not even slightly shocked over the fact that you have got NFI

Isn’t it that they Picked Hughes over Cowan resulting in Maddison playing out of position.

So should have picked Hughes over Maddison

Hughes should have opened with Maddinson at six

agree, Hughes played well and very patiently but a weird one handed shot got him out, the ball seamed a bit

Dogga is more a middle order player for mine, he actually left one that cat back and hit the stumps and that is his area of weakness imo

Oozie made a ton, Head 8 runs in 2 digs.

Not sure if the Blues will need too many batsmen in the seconds innings.

The Toyman made 27 in 2 digs, Wade a well complied single in his first innings, hasn't batted in the second innings yet.

Renshaw made not many twice, he has been pretty disappointing.

Strong start for Cartwright. He should be the #6.

They're absolutely frothing to get Darsh back in though.

I dont mind him at 6, him or Head but Head hasn't done well in the 4 day game, mind you that ball from Starc would have got anyone.

Cartright is not an all rounder tho, just a No 6 bat.

Seeing that swing with the pink ball concerns me a little for the 2nd test, Anderson might cause us some trouble there.

Only Victorian's bother with that, whaa, but Brad Hodge, whaa but Cameron White, and insert other Victorian nuffy whaa
Oh and Justin Langer with Darsh for his 1000th turn in the baggy green

People were going on about Sayers not some Victorian joke. He is good but we have enough bowlers.

He's a batsman who can bowl a bit to give the quicks a rest before the second new ball. A bit like Paul Collingwood.

His first class record is outstanding and his technique is very good. He offers far more, and is much better long term prospect, than either Marsh brother.

Let's be honest, if an attack of Starc-Hazlewood-Cummins can't get a side out, what good is a medium pacer going to be?

Yeah I’ve seen that debate, he should be above Bird, Behrendorf and Coulter-Nile seem to be above him in the pecking order...

People were saying that about Boult and Southee too. We managed pretty well.

Apparently Neville missed an easy catch in the Shield match, not a good look considering he didn't need to do much for the match

no keepers putting their hand up really after first batch of Shield fixtures last week
