Just for a laugh - have a look at WT website. They have removed JMo from the playing roster as with all the other players leaving for 2010 (so far). But guess what- check out the background images of players- guess who is there actually shaping to pass the ball?- JMo himself. He lives on...............

Perhaps it's in honour of his superb cut-out ball against the Bulldogs in Round 26. He went out on a high note...playing as the half-back he never was for so many years.

The sad thing is- I liked him, I reckon he was a great club man and his spirit on the field and ability to turn out match after match (3 years without missing a game I think?) was exceptional. Defensively he was very good, but he absolutely inhibited / wrecked / butchered any attacking momentum the team developed when he got his hands on the ball as a half. I hope his new role as a hooker at Sharks provides him better opportunity.

The bad thing is/was he accepted a position in WT he was unable to develop into- (nothing wrong with trying)- but then was trapped into that role by either Teflon / his own perception - lord knows who, as neither party has really said anything. It will be interesting to hear JMo's comments next year on his time at WT and how he felt about the position he played there.

Morris will be good for the Sharks if they use him as a utility. He is not a half back - no matter how much Tim wants him to be.

He was also a really nice guy. I met him a couple of times post-match and he would actually have real conversations with fans rather than just a "nod and walk".

I think a lot of that comes from his maturity. We desperately need some.

The problem with having a whole team of young men is that they behave like young men. You always need an elder statesman or two to lift the team. Since the post-'05 clean out of Skando and, more importantly, O'Neil we haven't had a really solid senior player who can lift the boys up when their heads go down.

Enough with the revisionism. Morris was not a statesman. He might have been the most experienced player on the pitch for awhile, but he was not the cool head of the team. He'd have made a good 2IC as far as all that goes, but again, our recruitment and coaching boffins let us down.

Let me get this straight, they got a shot of John Morris passing the ball? It must have been one of the few times he didnt have a 3 man overlap to murder.

Round 26 vs the Dogs, 3rd minute, he threw an absolutely beautiful cut out ball to Ayshford to score. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Yep, check out the website yourself- he actually looks the goods. Pity the reality was so much different.

I see the WT website have now removed JMo's image and replaced with TNT's. Nothing like a little prod of ridicule from a discussion forum website to make the official website get its act together.

He'll be the starting Hooker for the Sharks next year.
