Joel Burraston has been named at five-eighth in a trial for North Sydney's Premier League being played this weekend.

I was wondering what you can all tell me about him?

How good is he?

Why would he have left the Knights?

f**k.

I can tell you he didn't get a go at the Knights for the last few years.

He is the son of former Knights PL coach and Warren Ryan protege Steve Burraston.

He was our gun player in Mathews and Ball and was described as the new Joey for years.

In 2005 he took a year off to go through the Hunter Institute of sport program - but he remained the gun player for Hunter Sports high.

Last year he got a few games of Ball but not at halfback and after the Ball season he played halfback for central charlestown in the newcastle comp and was credited with winning them a few games with his clever halfback play.

He is a big halfback with every skill known to man - good enough to play for Australia as an under 14 - and probably didn't get a fair run at the Knights.

I'm spewing.

Thanks for that roopy. He sounds good.

I think he will mainly play Flegg this year, but it sounds like he could handle Premier League if injuries hit.

It's interesting reading on this link:
http://www.2020sports.net.au/client_profile.asp?Client_ID=24

Burraston says:
"I live clean, train hard and give my best on the park, I have promised myself not to retire wondering if??. I am prepared to make the necessary sacrifices to ensure I achieve my goal of playing in the NRL".

- I guess he decided a move to Sydney was better for his career.

Do you know where on the table did the Knights finish when Burraston played Matthews (2004)?

Can't remember how Mathews went in 2004 - but i remember watching and Burraston, Jenkinson and Richardson pretty much dominated.
