He is a good player but I think we can do without him. We have a lot of outside backs and need some more mongrel in the forwards which I'm not sure he can provide.

It's like the relief I felt after a particularly bad dose of Delhi belly after a very hot vindaloo left my system and wound its way down the S bend to North Bondi

I was an early critic of Reddy but he proved to be a fair player who tries his best, overall he had a better season than Lawrence and Ayshford I thought.

Makes Luke Covell look like Jarryd Hayne in the speed department. We've got plenty of better options so he isn't a big loss.

Is that so?

Havent heard, but what's your point?

Will Souths never make another poor signing ever again?

I don't really have a point other than the West Tigers (in 15th position) could give a crap about this guy where Souths (in 2nd position) see value in him...I doubt Reddy will get much game time there but he has a better chance of scroing a premiership ring there than with us gthe way we are playing...so no point.

Souths have plenty of stars, they are well set for forwards, but some weakness in the backs, so they see potential value in having an experienced, decent first grader to hopefully improve on that weakness. Tigers don't need him with all the quality young backs coming through, so letting him go frees up some money to buy the quality forward that we need.

Do you guys honestly think we can make him into a solid first grader?

Also another reason we would have signed him is because he and Goodwin are brother in laws.

I don't think so but I'll be happy to eat my words. his best season according to Eels fans was 09, so you are getting an already average player 5 years past his best year.

with him leaving I think it provides a good place for Pat Richards.

Good solid player. He is a first grader. Not a star but he can do a good job.

I will admit i have never been a fan,i found him to be a slow, clumsey knock on specialist with questionable defence, however he could leap high and at times this year he showed improvement.Maybe like a lot of other players he may benefit from playing with a regular half combo.

If Joel reddy got a starting spot for whatever reason with the Souths he would probably go well for two reasons:
- Strong pack with plenty of go forward
- Excellent halves with an outstanding kicking game from the halfback.

Two things the tigers have been lacking in spades.

Hopefully as our youngsters get more experience our pack will get stronger and if Luke Brooks comes good then we will no longer have this problem

Reddy is a solid player. Nothing flashy but consistent and solid in all areas.
He did play City/Country (i dont really know how) so obviously some coaches rate him.
A very good back up center in my opinion.

You don't need to make anything. He already is exactly as you've described, a sold first grader. You'll get what you paid for with Reddy.

Reddy is about 10 times as good as Andrew Everingham who at times looked like a superstar on the end of the Rabbitohs backline. Reddy will shine in the Souths system. As a target under the high ball alone he'll have huge value for Reynolds.
