I've been saying this since 2000 or so, but Andrew Johns is not head-coach material. Matty Johns was always -to me anyway- the most likely of the two to be a head-coach. Joey always seemed to me to be a backs coach or assistant coach as opposed to running the whole show.

I'd personally like to see the Knights offering Joey a minor coaching role. Even if it's one day a week or so.

... and then the moment something went remotely wrong, every single one of them put the cue in the rack and decided to save themselves for next week/month/year. So soft in the head.
Yeah, I got home and turned the tv on! Sorry guys, I stopped the Knights momentum! They were apparently killing it for the 32mins prior to me turning the game on, and we were up 18-6 at the time. Went to shit from that point on.

Echo that. While I don't think we need Joey coaching, as that would be the definition of jobs for the boys, it would be appreciated if some of our 'legends' were more vocal active in their thoughts on the club as a whole.

What ? and turn it to Parramatta ?

Joey would be a horrible coach for us, but at the same time it is annoying to listen to him throw criticism at the club while doing absolutely nothing to try and help it. He ditched the club the moment he retired. We had him in a minor coaching role briefly but he left because Manly could offer him more money which he was very open about.

While I'll always love the bloke for what he did on the field for us I'm not blinded because of it. His treatment of it post-retirement has been extremely questionable. I know people will say that he owes the club nothing but is that really the case? We let him hold us to ransom to get whatever money he wanted. We let him take time off to play in the UK while continuing to pay him. It's no secret we swept a lot of his off field crap under the rug for him. No other club would have let a player get away with what we let Joey get away with. He can sit there and critise the club's soft approach now but he certainly didn't seem to have a problem when he was a part of it himself as a player.

The whole place is rabble, everyone employed on the coaching staff is part of the old boys network, we have Bedsy who could be a good coach one day but as mentioned previously is still too close to the players, Stone is a fence sitter, Hagan is a dinosaur, and the two defensive coaches (Craig Smith and Mick Reid) are there not because they have any expertise but because they're "tough blokes" (also been around the club for years) and somehow the club thinks that their hardness will rub off on the players (whatever that means). The place is an absolute mess, if they ever brought in someone to do an independent review of how we operate as a club they'd be shaking their heads
