John Gibbs and Brandy Alexanders radio sport show?

Gibbs was another example of ex-footballers with liitle or no grasp for the english language getting jobs in the media - it was amazing he lasted as long as he did.
Brandy is ok - Not a genius but he calls it as it is and isn't afraid to rip a caller if he thinks they are a dope.

The show was actually better last week when they had Voss and Tim Gilbert (who i only usually rate as so-so).

Oh well, obviously rugby league talk shows doesn't rate well on radio.

Surprising as I thought the Brandy and John Gibbs show was a really good sports show and surely a ratings winner.

Driving home from work I would listen to Talkin Sport till 6pm and always switch over to 2UE as it was a far better product.

Certainly won't ever turn the dial to 0954 now to listen to yet another talkfest, dime a dozen talk back radio.

Poor decision by 2UE and I am sure there ratings will suffer albeit maybe at far less a cost which I assume is the basis for the decision.

Alexander was pretty good, should have kept the show and cancelled Gibbs.

Im surprised at all the people singing the praises of Sports Today's league coverage. Personally I thought it was disgraceful and that they gave way too much airtime to AFL, Union and other nuffie sports.

Talkin Sport is 90% NRL and easily the best league radio programme on at the moment.

Sports Today - gone

What next?

The BSB is crap with Slater on there. So much better when Jimmy Smith fills in.

There will be more AFL on Sydney radio at times this year.

I totaly agree.. 2ue have screwed up bigtime and when ratings time comes along they will see in black and white by just how much.

quite bizzare that a sports only station hasn't been tried in sydney , like sen in melbourne http://www.sen.com.au/

especially since sen has reportedly got the highest AM audience of 25-40 yos in melbourne.

FFS even Perth has a sportsfm station with a dedicated program for rugby league ... http://www.sportfm.com.au/programs-l-z/rugby-league/ and they're lucky to get 1 live game a year

in fact most half decent cities around have a dedicated sports radio station .

but the geniuses here think we want either political radio or classic hits ...

I preferred listening to Sports Today before it was Gibbs hosting. I like listening to Brandy but I didn't listen much last year. I haven't really got into Talking Sport, not a fan of 2SM.
