The Jets have received a $40 million commitment by three levels of government to upgrade North Ipswich Reserve and establish a centre of excellence.

The bid has an in-principle deal with Suncorp Stadium to initially play all home games at the venue, where they would wear the green and white strip of Ipswich.

While that would be the missing part of the SE-Queensland puzzle, they'd surely need Perth or NZ 2 or PNG to completely butcher their own chances.... which I guess is a possibility.

If they got the money let them in

If Singo is willing to pay they leapfrog Perth.
Doesn't seem that the game actually wants Singo involved in any sort of capacity.

He failed with his bid to keep Newtown afloat back in the day,
Failed in his bid to buy into Wests Magpies in the 90's,
Failed in his bid with the 2005 version of Central Coast Bears,
Failed in his bid to join Western Australian,
Failed in his bid to join Ipswich & Newtown together.

This $40m has been floated for awhile now. I'd wager it's highly conditional. These Ipshit men seem to bang on about Aussie Rules taking over. Is that what they are banking their hedges on? Pity? Surely they can do better than that.

Ipshit has plenty of upsell like i.e. model trains (steam trains mind you), llama farms, Redbank shopping center, random street art on and it's also (allegedly) Australia's smelliest city. How good. Sign me up.

Funnily enough with all the rhetoric about AFL threats coming from the Ipswich Jets bidders, that $40mil, was promised by the same mayor who is advocating AFL aswell, I suppose if the NRL aren't going to put up shop there then she'll sell us out to the rival code.. what a Queenslander!!!

Singo called BS on Perth consortium.

Widnes smells like a lot of league cities so ipswich would be good addition

The soonest we’re likely to see a new team admitted is in 2027. At that point the only 2 new teams we will have added in essentially a 30 years period will both be in SEQLD. Personally I think it’s f**king wild that we’re even talking about another new team in SEQLD.

Jokes aside Ipshit can definitely support a team one day soon. They got some goodun's out there. Sunny Coast can probably sustain a team one day as well. Maybe 15/20 years away but hey time goes quick.

Wonder if Sunny Coast or Ippy could be looked at as stand-by locations incase Papua fall over after their handouts finishes?

No money in regional centres like sunshine coast.

Oh.. if PNG falls over, the NRL replace them with a team either in South-East Queensland or the Central Coast.

Either would be relatively easy - well, probably easier than NZ 3 or Adelaide or Fiji or where-ever else.. so long as the existing clubs generally agree on the location.

15/20 years of growth in that northern corridor, could see a rise in enough population to justify it

Dolphins cover Morton bay which has larger population than sunshine coast. Let north of brisbane be the dolphins side chick.
