all I wanna do is sniff some glue

sheena is a punk rocker

bliztkrieg bop

I wanna be sedated

soundtrack to my teens , and I missed them by ten years However I did manage to get up the front at the big day out they played at.

RIP Johnny.

and Ron Jeremy ( with whom you probably would have nothing in common with ) give yourself ten in the bin.
This wasn't a "who gives a toss about some bunch of Seppo makeup wearing tossers who didn't have the guts to leave their own hemisphere thread".

they were that popular they were the first ones asked to be the soundtrack to TopGun, they are also the band with the soundtrack to " The Golden child".

HA HA HA ..TOPGUN??? What a crock of shite that was and the Golden Child ????now there's something to be proud of.

What about Blitzkrieg Bop being in National Lampoons Vacation hey now there's a classic!!!

And did Robin whats his name get a mention in a Steven King book ?

Pet Cemetary ...by the way .

You're probably not related to Damir??, am i right??, so whats your point?

Do you wanna make a bet??, they were the first ones asked but they declined due too touring purposes, i dare say Top Gun was alot more popular then Pet Cemetary

No, but i'll go one better.......Ratt was the first music to be played on Mars, stick that up your arse

The Ramones are that good , Joey couldn't even sing, 3 chord wonders who's songs barley touched 2 1/2 minutes, very inspirational, i reckon Green day are a better punk band.

And by the way, while you listened to them in your teens........i was listening to better bands eg Gunners, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Def Lep etc, now they are still great bands.

For hecks sake GTB, at least try and spell the name right.

The Ramones were an inspiration to a generation of bands and song writers. They came before the Sex Pistols and unlike the Pistols, the Ramones were not a factory band.

I thought the Sex Pistols were tremendous but the Ramones were NY influenced and far more ground breaking.

Anyone who says the Sex Pistols were better simply don't know their punk history. The Clash were better, the Buzzcocks were better, the NY Dolls were better, the Stooges were better... how far shall we go back?

Like you ( serious question) just curious??....I'm guessing probably the clash?

I thought the Sex Pistols were tremendous but the Ramones were NY influenced and far more ground breaking.

True probably, however Sex pistols had more potential but shot themselves in the foot.

The Clash i'll agree were probably better then all of them, what about Generation X?

Frankly I think you've shown no respect for the dead.

For the record.

I wanna be sedated; E B A F# C# = 5 Chords

Now I wanna sniff some glue ; B A G Em = 4 Chords

Sheena is a punk rocker ; C G A F = 4 Chords

Pet Cemetary ; C5 D5 Bb5 C Dm F Bb = 7 Chords

As for sending it to Mars , well thats a good idea...

  , you have gone to trouble to list chords from 4 songs, don't try to hard please, any guitar solos there??

Offcourse i'm upset that basically he & most of the band are dead, only a decent person would, thats rock n' roll for you though.

no trouble at all really , they were only the songs I mentioned before you claimed the Ramones to be "3 chord wonders". Which as I proved is a crock of shit.
There was no mention of guitar solo's so in there lies the reason for no mention.

Like I said , start your own Ratt thread and I promise I won't read any of it. :D

No-one would. They aren't thought highly enough of to even be remembered.

Carcharias did you ever see Rocket to Russia, a Ramones Trib band who used to play at the Royal at Sutho ? Excellent even for a covers band.

And there were plenty of Ramones T shirts in the crowd at Bizzos on Saturday.

My favourite story. Friend was doing a voice session with Tim Webster and the topic of the Ramones came up. Tim looked admiringly off into the distance and said "Ahhh that Phil Ramone. He sure knows how to produce a fine record".

RIP Johnny

Nar , can't say I've heard of them .
I have seen a lot of local bands .
The ones I've seen that where pretty good were The Rocks , the Chesters , Hard ons ( of course )
Plus I was lucky enough to see The Ramones , the Sex Pistols ( who were bloody good , suprisingly) ,The Radio Birdman , The Hitmen, the Screaming Tribesman , the trilobites , Physcotic turnbuckles , the Hellmen , the lime spiders, The Meanies , the Cosmic Psychos ...crikey I m going back now.
My only regrets are never seeing old Hank in Black Flag and the Dead Kennedy's .

Speaking of Rockets I heard a song called Rocket by Def Leppard yesterday ....HA HA HA HA HA.
It had to be a joke right? surely no one really got into that pompous, sterile , over produced insult to the ears.

Great day , Great Rock festival until they moved it. Now I just spend most of the day completely lost.

A band that sold a hell more albums and sold out more arena then the Ramones.

The king of 80's hair metal.

I suggest you maybe widen your musical tastes, as it seems pretty limited if you don't even know who they are.
