You do realise that we have Joey, BK, Kurt Gidley, Timana Tahu and I think Adam Woolnough (correct me if I'm wrong) coming off contract this year, and not enough money to re-sign them all.

IMHO, the Knights are completely, absolutely, completely f**ked in the head if they decide to re-sign BK and Johns and let the rest go. Joey has 2 seasons tops left in his career, and BK isn't that far behind. They'll right-royally screw themselves if one or both of them gets injured.

Johns at lock? Kennedy on the bench? May as well put Matt Parsons at halfback and throw Josh Perry on the wing.

Johns will make a good lock, but he's the best halfback in the world. You don't move the best halfback and put him at lock.

Exactly. And you don't move arguably the worlds best lock to the bench to accomadate the move.

god...now i have heard everything...

you want to pay Johns $500K to play lock and Kennedy $300K to play off the bench?

garden fairy has a very good point - there is not enough money there to sign all the talent. someone has to go. who would you pick?

i'd be letting go Johns to be honest. probably Kennedy as well. Johns based on poor value for money alone over the last 3 seasons (2002-2004). Kennedy because at best he is a week-to-week proposition - and more often than not he is sitting in the grandstand...$300K to sit in the grandstand?

The person who suggested this. What are you smoking?
The only place where Joey can play in the forwards is hooker but even then where would you put Bedsy?

He's staying at Halfback and I think he's safe there.

The most interesting thing about wanting johns at lock is that by 2005 johns running game had diminished substantially and he was playing a more mental game than physical. He focussed more on setting up his ball runners than trying to rip through teams with aggression. Moving a halfback to lock when we didn't have a ready replacement also boggles the mind.
