Mayer is gone but McDonnell is still there and has been for a very long time.
Just like Sheens nothing sticks to McDonnell..We have changed CEO's players and coaches its time to change the real problem.

I agree with BuffaloRules. Sack McDonnell and we will win the comp. Make it happen.

Yep, as the head defensive coach all blame should be reserved for mcdonnel. It was all I could think about throughout the game. Damn Mcdonald. Burgers are better at Hungry Jacks.

Speaking of Jack, im going to punch myself in the face then eat some goats cheese.

McDonnell only looks after the kids recruitment now doesn't he? I think the merkin is long overdue to be punted by how will sacking him improve our first team recruitment?

True. But it is the cattle he got for us and keeps for us that cant do the job.

I don't think its all his fault or maybe even close to his fault. I think Richards/Koro was probably someone else's call as was letting Austin go as was not signing that guy from the GC this year.

If the ones I mentioned were his fault I would punt him as well but I don't think its true.

This was my understanding as well. If so he isn't the problem.

A funny read from a few years back:

Warren Mcdonnell - Here is my Player Profile

http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=176573

The sarcasm aside, as we all know that he doesn't make the tackles and we wont win a comp purely based on his sacking, you have to audit the whole process and that includes:

Managers come knocking and would believe that it's the coaching team that would say yes or no to the player being shopped around but then it's the next coach or CEO who is involved in releasing a player, e.g. much prefer that Bodene Thompson was still in Tigers team.

who let some better performing players go?
was it because of the signing of players who had not proven themselves as yet and so, we had to release players because of the salary cap?

Coaching staff have to take the most responsibility - who saw that big Keith was a better long term player than say a Bryce Gibbs=?
Did McDonnell recommend Lewis Brown and so who didn't see long term potential in retaining him?

Was it McDonnell who recommended Benji?

Maybe what we need is someone who has just left the game to be our recruitment manager if that role is based on looking for a young kid or perhaps a kid from the bush who might just make it. Someone like Liam Fulton perhaps.

McDonnell can go, but the biggest issue facing this club is this constant endless childish mindless obsession the old Balmain and Magpies factions have in trying to take full control over Wests Tigers.

It is never going to happen, and even if it does, the club will still be called the Wests Tigers.

It's time the club practiced what they preached and united.

First step, punt every f**king person in the clubs administration and on the board who were either Balmain or Magpies fans.

We want Wests Tigers fans now.

Get Harry on the board, let him have some say in the clubs direction.

Stop pushing juniors into the NRL side before they are ready.

Get a quality ball player AND runner at five-eighth. Moses is timid as f**k and his outside backs are dying. Let Moses either play off the bench or spend a season in NSW Cup.

Get a head coach with success as a head coach. Stop hiring assistant coaches as the head coach.

Nathan Brown or Steve Folkes are the only two who should have been eligible for the head coaching role.

Sironen needs a season in NSW Cup at centre. Use his ball skills and combine it with his size to teach him how to run good lines like Lawrence. He still has the potential to be brilliant, and it's not too late to get him on the development path he should have always been on.

Fix up his lateral speed too, he used to be okay in that area, but now he moves slower than a B-Double doing a hill start.

Let Farah play more of his natural game. The side plays best when it plays what is in front of them. Stop trying to structure every f**king tackle and play, it's killing the side.

I actually think Madunit makes some sense there. The problem is that I'm not sure if we have any better options to replace Moses and Sironen. Plus I still think those 2 can be really good players.

At the moment though I think we have to tackle the biggest issue which is our slow outside backs and lack of depth out wide. Its no good making minor changes to areas that might need to be improved when there is an obvious one that has to be fixed.

Didnt Harry T walk away from the Balmain side of things ie the debacle over the leagues club venture etc. Would he want to come back to a Wests Tigers club rather than a Balmain club?

I welcome anybody with business acumen and some $$$ to contribute if needed but if he is a dyed in the wool 'gold and black' Balmain boy, rather than Wests Tigers, isnt that part of the problem MU just said should be rooted out?

Just asking a question, not in any way trying to disparage Harry T or his passion.........

Meriton has sponsored the WT at times so there may still be a chance Harry would interested in being involved with the club, but i could fully understand if he doesn't want a bar of them, why the Balmain faction never used his expertise or advice concerning the leagues club developement defies logic.

Fair call re Harry.

I figured he's shown he's behind WT, so why not make him a member of the commercial team perhaps.

I would welcome his involvement but as far as I know he has not wanted to be involved for some time now. Cant say why but I suspect the Balmain leagues club fiasco and the tensions between groups has soured things.

I wish that Harry would just go f**k it. Buy the club outright and then tell everyone exactly what was what.

More realistically though, I would like to see Wests just take full control of the club and pour some much needed funds into it. New training grounds, new home ground stadium. Everyone can deal with it or start following AFL.

I've stopped caring about Balmain/Campbelltown, I only care about the Wests Tigers
