A funny read from a few years back:
Warren Mcdonnell - Here is my Player Profile

The sarcasm aside, as we all know that he doesn't make the tackles and we wont win a comp purely based on his sacking, you have to audit the whole process and that includes:
Managers come knocking and would believe that it's the coaching team that would say yes or no to the player being shopped around but then it's the next coach or CEO who is involved in releasing a player, e.g. much prefer that Bodene Thompson was still in Tigers team.
who let some better performing players go?
was it because of the signing of players who had not proven themselves as yet and so, we had to release players because of the salary cap?
Coaching staff have to take the most responsibility - who saw that big Keith was a better long term player than say a Bryce Gibbs=?
Did McDonnell recommend Lewis Brown and so who didn't see long term potential in retaining him?
Was it McDonnell who recommended Benji?
Maybe what we need is someone who has just left the game to be our recruitment manager if that role is based on looking for a young kid or perhaps a kid from the bush who might just make it. Someone like Liam Fulton perhaps.
