Eels chair Sean McElduff has urged the old guard to lay down their guns and allow the club to flourish after an embarrassing attempt to take control of the Parramatta Leagues Club (PLC) ended in high farce, costing the PLC members upwards of $400,000.
A disgruntled group of PLC members forced an extraordinary general meeting last week but the meeting was adjourned before a vote could be held after less than 50 members showed up.
The ridiculous situation embarrassed the so-called supporters pushing for change.
The latest flashpoint was a reminder of the bad old days at Parramatta, when the club was held back by factionalism and self-interest.

Parramatta chair Sean McElduff urged the unhappy minority to accept the outcome and move on.
ā€œThe new constitution passed its first test with this EGM,ā€ McElduff said.
ā€œThese people donā€™t like the constitutional change put in place in 2017 and they donā€™t listen. They will keep banging on at the leagues club and make noise.
ā€œPeople running for the leagues club and wanting to be on the leagues club board need to know you need certain skills and sophistication.
ā€œThese guys couldnā€™t care less about the leagues club or the football club and it is embarrassing.
ā€œThey say they care about the club ā€¦ but if it wastes membersā€™ money, they donā€™t care.ā€

There were 73 at the 7:15pm count of attendance across all 3 venues.

Poor old Spags. Few spotted yours and your cronies flaws first time around. Iā€™m glad we all do now.

Hi Suity. I hope you and yours are well.

Iā€™ve never really left. I check in once per month or so. Rarely bother to even login. I donā€™t have the time nor inclination to post anymore. Sometimes I feel I am reading the same arguments from 20+ years ago, often with the same combatants. Iā€™m willing to bet somebodyā€™s left nut that everyone would get along just fine if standing next to each other drinking a shandy, as you and I know too well. Well, most anyway.
Lots of passionate people here sharing differing opinions with each other for 20+ years.
