Josh Dugan being shopped around for 7 figure amount

James Hooper from Fox says that Dugan is being shopped to rival clubs for $1m plus per season.
My feeling is that with his playing style his longevity will be diminished playing fullback and his future lies in the centres. I'm sure all other clubs would take the same view and baulk at his asking price. I'm each way on Duges although I do prefer he remain a Dragon as I love his passion.

Dugan's agent has clearly been busy contacting the media trying to pump his price tag. Dugan is a centre moving forward, he's lost a fair bit of pace and his playing style is no longer relevant to the modern day fullback. No centre is worth 1 mil a season.

If a club is willing to pay that price for him, then good luck to him, he should take it and move on.
Don't get me wrong i'd love for the club to retain Josh for a reasonable price, but if means we have to let him go then so be it. His departure would allow us to have a genuine crack at players like Jack Bird or Mitch Moses.

If Duges is worth $1mil then Boyd, GI, Slater, Tedessco, Moylan, Hayne are worth $2mil and that ain't going to happen. Duges agent lives in fantasy land.
Haa maybe we can get Boyd back by swapping Duges along with Marketo and Matthews and Lafai

I don't like that the article says dugan will play fullback. Surely Dufty gets a start at fb? If they roll out mccrone at 7, duges at 1 and lafai at 4 that will do me....

You would pay 1mil per season for a half back.

You would pay 1mil per season for a fullback that can also play as a 2nd 5/8 ALA Boyd / Tedesco / Inglis/ Hayne

You would not pay 1mil per season for a 1 dimensional fullback.

I have faith that Dufty will excel in first grade, if not Give that money to a Mitchell Moses and throw Widdop to fullback.

We have more then enough depth in the centers, I love Dugan but that money is much needed elsewhere

Cannot see any club including ours paying $1M for Duges

He is injury prone, has average speed and lacks the ability to act as a second 5/8

Going forward I see him as a centre

Would love to see him stay at $600-650k per season

If he really wants seven figures all I can say is best of luck Josh in pursuing your
Career in the NFL or ESL

Who the hell would actually pay this amount for 'supposedly' a future centre with zero ball playing ability? This is beyond ludicrous. A centre should only be worth half that tops. God I hope we aren't dumb enough to pay it but then again this is the dragons we are talking about.

The only clubs that could afford that price is the Rorters and the Bulldogs.. Obviously with massive 3rd party included. My bet..the Rorters.

I did say a few days back that DUGAN is asking for a minimum $3.5M 4 year contract - I reckon Newcastle a the big chance to pay that even w Pongia arriving in 2018 they need experience amd will lay for it.. I reckon they will land SCOTT from Nth Qld , they will chase Bird but won't get him and they will chase DUGAN and I'm certain theyRe a chance..

Dragons won't offer more than $2.5M for 4 years that's my prediction..

Bird is the Dragons target here along w Hasler
