I would release him and try and get a player in a trade over cash, would rather see us add more depth to our outside backs than weaken them

So ur kids moved to another state u wouldn't do ur best to move closer to them?

That's in itself is a good enough reason. But I've always wondered why the missus chose Brisbane when she's from Mackay. If I walk into Broncos leagues club and find her behind the desk with a nice salary I'll sense something's up

Perhaps we shouldn't consider it too odd that a mother thought it in her children's best interests that thy have easy access to both their parents.

Agreed.

Des Hasler has some good talent on hand to pilfer in exchange for our unhappy camper.

He had all that at Canterbury.

In fact, his income isn't changing.

He had all that at Canterbury, which is in NSW, which is where she didn't want to be anymore.

Do we even know her family are still in Mackay? Has Barba tweeted about visiting them in the North recently? They could be in Brisbane with them now. Nobody on this forum would know.

At the end of the day, it's pretty clear cut. Barba has always wanted to play at the Broncos, he got the chance and took it.

EDIT: Also before the Bulldogs fans start breathing down my neck, I am perfectly happy to release Hoffman to you immediately. I am frankly over his shit. Just good luck to you if you find a better option for Fullback and he gets the tap on the shoulder, because you won't hear the end of it.

Barba's family is still in Mackay, he spoke about it being easier to visit them in one of his first interviews with the club on their website.

Well he probably shouldn't have signed a multi year deal to play with another club then...

It might be hard for you to feel sorry for Hoffman since he's not suffering any hardship, but Barba wouldn't have been either if he turn into a merkin and ruin his relationship

I don't think it's appropriate to comment on private matters we know nothing about, and I don't trust the media enough to believe everything they've said about it. Obviously early 2013 wasn't Barba's proudest period but he has stayed below the radar since. I'm willing to believe the newfound superstardom that 2012 granted him started to get to him which led to his behavior in 2013.

I do hope they have a chapter in Brisbane though.

Just hope Newman hasn't put them in the same boat as the bikies.
