Just looked up his stats and he is listed at only 93kg which is very small for a second rower, no wonder he struggles to make an impact.

Surely Graham, Frizzell or even someone like Cartwright get picked before Jackson for Origin next year.

Wait, Laurie's still coach isn't he?

Never mind.

Throw in Tyrone Peachey, I think he's the type of bloke who would carve up with reduced interchange

Peach only works when the team is already on the front foot and rolling forward, he's terrible when the side is bogged down. Don't think he'll ever be a rep player.

Wade Graham is way better than this dude

This!

Almost criminal if wade Graham gets overlooked for an origin spot next season. Better than Jackson in every facet of the game including leadership. I'd have him captain at the Sharks if I was flannagan

Cordner runs good lines and can also throw a decent ball. I'd say he is more like a poor mans Watmough (when Watmough was actually good)

Cordner is like Glen Stewart. Kills it with the right mix of structure and combinations, and he has that at Easts like Stewart had at Manly.

Take them both out of those two environments, and they're bog average. Their rep efforts are a prime example.

Oh yeah, this thread is about Jackson.

Dunno why Daley picked him as a starting middle forward for Origin in Game 1, and still dunno what his value was on the bench in Games 2 and 3.

A lot of backrowers in the game have been specialised to play a certain way at their clubs. They can look phenomenal when running the right line outside a very good half, but plenty of them got shown up for frauds fairly easily.

I do agree Wade Graham is a very good player who deserves to play rep footy.

People here are judging Jackson on his last game, in a side that didn't have a good day.

He is a good defender who makes lots of tackles, can run a good line, has a bit of footy work a footy brain and can pass the ball.

In other words he is a traditional NRL 2nd Rower, he is very good at club level, but has not shown much in rep footy at this stage.

His attack at club level looks bad at present that is more to do with the fact that the whole Dogs attack is misfiring, in particular the service he gets from the halves is poor and the Dogs pack doesn't always establish go forward in the middle of the park.

So if he gets slow service, in a flat attacking line, with a well set defense right on top of him there is not much he can do.

Alternatively if he gets good ball with a bit of room to move he can break the line or set up his center.

Again it depends what you want in rep footy, I do agree Wade Graham is probably a better option.

Jackson is a very good player but is paying the price for unbalanced pack. He has now
become a workhorse as most of the bulldog pack are not capable to rack up big numbers in defence.

Morley I agree, I also think it is ironic that the Roosters are having more success with a team balance which is more like a traditional Bulldogs balance.

In terms of attitude and balance the Roosters pack would compare favorably to many of the better Bulldogs packs.

The Dogs problems go deeper than that, but hopefully Des is on to it.

I'm about 95 so it looks like Jackson is almost the perfect weight for sitting at a desk all day.

He's a quality player, saying anything else is pretty dumb.

But I don't get why he is such a media darling, nor why NSW have such man-lub for him... If he's in the SOO team surely it's as a starter on an edge to play many minutes - I don't see any point him playing in the middle, or that he adds much punch from the bench...

But then I am not a NSW selector...

If Sterlo says "he's the best young forward in the game" often enough then eventually people in positions of power start to believe it.

He's a quality young player. But it's peculiar to say the least to select him as an option off the bench for NSW. I'm really not sure what they were thinking there.

He is a good player that has done everything asked of him he is only a young man so his best footy is ahead of him.

I would have had Tyson Frizzell on the bench for Cordner this year and I also agree that Wade Graham should be a certainty next season, as a starter if he can maintain his form. Cordner either starts or he doesn't play, he is a pure 80 minute footballer. Daley is an absolute dope along with the NSW selectors and it is no wonder we struggle year in year out.. and yes 2014 we won because of Jarryd Hayne and his efforts in game 1.
