Couchman twins will be way better than Kerr imo
And yet our top prop makes most of his post-contact metres on his hands and knees. But he seems like a top bloke too.Always been a plodder. Tries hard, and probably a good bloke, but we need forwards with more pace than he has.
The game is too fast these days for slow forwards.
Not a massive loss but I do expect him to improve under Bennett as so many players have.Josh Kerr to leave at seasons end.
1 down more to come.
Off to the Dolphins.
True, but they say Age 28 is when a Prop reached their prime, im watching Sele tonight who is 26... but we have a habit of developing forwards until they are finally ready for 1st grade.. then having them poached.. Fifita is 22 & years away from a legit 1st grader.. he's barely impacting reserve grade thus far.. but absolutely he should be a prospect if his head is screwed on..Enter w fafita way ahead of Kerr same age
100% you need different body shapes in your pack, we have lots of toilers.. but Kerr is big tall, fast with fast play the balls, offloads, can score tries.. our early wins were basically off the impact that Kerr gave us.. he's now coming into his prime and once again he's poached away... clearly Wayne has no idea what hes buying. He's the only middle forward offloading the ball at the moment, has been having a good season. Shame to lose a point of difference
I will use a couple of examples from tonight. Host and Sele. They were serviceable and did their job. But they aren't stand outs. Both played here and we were expecting miracles from them. This is not their role. Same as Ford now. He slots in well to a well established team but isn't the game breaker that we need. This is what Kerr is. He's serviceable and will look great in a team with much better players - as he would have here. But he isn't going to be the player we need going forward.I posted this in "the other place" but it is also appropriate for this thread.
We are the just the best at talking up someone after having criticised them for years.
Every departure is seen as a some monumental loss and reinforces people's desire to criticise the club.
Kerr is no doubt a good chap and tried hard but he is no world beater or game changing prop he is adequate in given circumstances.
Of course the argument will be "but he is just coming into his prime" well why the f**k didn't we wait for someone else to develop him and then buy him like the Dolphin's have done and how is it he is coming into his prime when everyone is of the opinion we can't coach anybody anything?
Good luck to Josh and I hope he has a good career ahead of him but he will certainly need to have some hard heads in the engine room with him for him to be any chance of influencing many games.
I agree...but Host and Sele > Tika Masala and Musgrove....why let young serviceable players go and sign old/ shitty unwanted players from other teams?I will use a couple of examples from tonight. Sorry OT, I know you have links to Host, but that is the way I see it.
Host and Sele left before Hook.I agree...but Host and Sele > Tika Masala and Musgrove....why let young serviceable players go and sign old/ shitty unwanted players from other teams?
Correct. They both got f**ked over by peanut PaulHost and Sele left before Hook.
Why would he wanna leave the Dragons?Leaving the Titanic, who can blame him
Why would he wanna leave the Dragons?
he had no choice , he wanted stay so BladyWhy would he wanna leave the Dragons?
Yep. Along with a lot of the women as well.Leaving the Titanic, who can blame him
Is this the same Josh Kerr!!! Big, tall, some offloads ok….fast, fast play the balls and wins off his impact are enormously generous statements of his impact and talents… he always seemed in slow motion to me, can’t recall him breaking the line and didn’t really have the speed to be an edge runner which is where I think he could be best suited. Good luck to him but let’s not rewrite history as another great lost due to ineptitude of managementTrue, but they say Age 28 is when a Prop reached their prime, im watching Sele tonight who is 26... but we have a habit of developing forwards until they are finally ready for 1st grade.. then having them poached.. If you count the couchman(s) as props then yeah there is an issue fitting them all on the bench... they are only 19 though.. and I dont even think they are props.. I think its a call for the incoming coach.

Yes mate. I know. They have been doing the same dumb thing since 2012Host and Sele left before Hook.
