News Josh Reynolds DV accusation (charges dropped 26/2/20)

Unfortunately that 30 odd seconds of video gives no context to what happened before or after. All you see is a bloke raging. It's not a good look when you're facing DV charges.

The police and courts will sort it out. The NRL has an image to protect so I wouldn't be upset as a Wests fan if they did choose to stand Reynolds down.

Might be in the minority, but I'm okay with some discretion being applied by NRL in standing down players in theory. The alleged facts in some cases are worse than others.

I had no problem in Walker being stood down. IMO he is a very lucky man that his partner changed her evidence.

Problem is, I have no faith in Greenberg's judgment. To give a character reference to GI when the outcome affected his employment was a massive conflict of interest on a couple of levels.

I had no issue with the way it was but NRL drew a line in the sand and yet don't even follow that line.

Excellent.
Todd Greenburg.
Judge, Jury , and Executioner .

The same guy that gave a glowing personal character reference to an alleged wife beating, alleged drink driving player.
The same guy that let Matt Lodge play without issue.

What could possibly go wrong?
Yes, we won't ever let the actual facts derail a good old fashioned rant will we?

I know it was doing the rounds on social media but it’s totally irresponsible for Foxsports to be publishing the video in light of the court proceedings. Reynolds is getting stitched up big time while not condoning the language he used there wouldn’t be too many couples that haven’t argued like that before.

You must know some real quality people.

You are pretty naive if you think you have to know someone to be exposed to something like that.
Masking someone's lack of exposure spousal abuse (even if its verbal) as "naivety" is downright terrifying. It's not normal. Stop trying to portray it as such.

Mate I really think you are confusing people saying it’s ‘normal’ with people saying it ‘ok.’

Most people start drinking before they’re 18, most people drive over the speed limit. I think a lot of people would say those things are normal, yet can you say they are right or ok? And no not for a second am I comparing verbally abusing someone to those things.

Please don’t put words in my mouth. As Vic said the fact that it’s normal doesn’t make it ok.

I have seen abuse like that in varying degrees on a daily occurrence at my work place. Does it happen? Yes, that doesn’t mean I condone their behaviour please don’t confuse the two.

I don't believe I said either of you condone it either, I was repeatedly pointing out it's not normal. It's not my experience that those behaviours are normal, nor the people around me. That's the point I'm making. And I'm not alone in this thread on that either, if you look back a couple of pages.

That's fine people are exposed to different life experiences every day so its not going to be the same for everyone I can only talk from my experience.

I guess that's my beef, the issue I've come across from some, using the "it's normal" to excuse the behaviour, when they're only speaking to their experience.

It is not normal for most decent folk.

But live in certain areas, or hang around certain people or work in certain industries (eg policing/ courts, public health, social services) you get exposed to what goes on out there. Unfortunately its a lot of people's "normal".

Becoming more and more regular as people get mental illnesses looked at too. We all handle stress/booze etc differently.

Maybe rather than the term normal we should be using common? Do the majprity of people verbally abuse their partners? Id suggest not, I’d say it’s generally uncommon. Does it happen? Of course, regularly? For some people sadly. But I’d still say the vast majority of people don’t behave like this and there is no justification for Reynolds being a bellend.

Josh has a lot to lose at the moment. Certain people are aware of this. Josh would be very easy to provoke at this point in time. He’s got a job going in the media and a juicy contract the has to be honoured at this stage.
Anyone saying his reaction was over the top clearly has had very limited experience with women or are unknowingly in a relationship with a robot.
Pull your heads out of your arses people
Especially you Timma f**k me its not 1950
