did anyone see Johnathan Thurston on 40/20 last night???

did anyone sit up when he said he was off contract at the end of next season??

Scurrah & Hart always complain that theres never any top class halfbacks on the market... perhaps they should stump up the big bucks to get him over here...

hes half kiwi anyway.... so it may appeal to him if you can pay him a heap of cash...

Worth serious thought - but I can't see the Cowboys letting him go.

Won't be able to afford him. Scurrah was in the papers the other day saying realistically we'd be only bringing in 1-2 max from outside the club for 2010.

I think we need to do what ever it takes to afford him, legally of course, firstly we could back end the bulk of his salary and promise him the bulk of Price's salary when he retires the of next year. Also Witt and Lauaki are both gone, that should be enough. hopefully.

Personally, if I was in charge of the Warriors, I would have made a tough call, and let Price go for next season and back the likes of Packer, Rapira, Ah Mau, Tuimavave, Royal etc to be able to get the job done there, and looked into the rumours of Craig Wing wanting out of the Rabbits, he is still quality, and in the areas the Warriors are lacking

I didn't think we'd be in the market for JT thanks to our No Dickheads policy?

Craig Wing would go OK if we could give him one position and stick to it.

Well, I did hear idiots travelled in flocks. That is proof, right there.

The Warriors should continue to sign Price, until he doesn't want to play any more. The man is a legend. You will not be able to buy a player like Price again for a very long time.

Wiki was a legend too. Are you suggesting we re-sign him for next year?

The thing with Legends is that you have to run them into the ground.

You can't have them retire, when they're still good. You have to make sure all the goodness is drained out of them, before you throw them on the trash heap.

We made sure Wiki was sh*t, before we got rid of him. We're doing it with Jones, he's just about there. And godammit, we'll do the same with Price.

You'll never get him. There's no way the Cowboys would let him go.

Seriously though, don't try and buy a star halfback. It won't work. All the best halves were bought early and then developed by the club.

Thurston was a fringe first grader when he came to the Cowboys. Prince was an injury-prone journeyman before he followed Sheens to the Tigers. Cronk was the understudy to Orford at the Storm for a while before he became a regular.

You've got plenty of talented young halves. Develop them instead of buying more. Because you sure as hell won't get JT.

i agree it would be tough to get JT from the cowboys... but he did say that he was considering all offers... especially the bulldogs.

theres no harm in putting up a big offer to him...

I think the Warriors should be looking at developing the young halves they have instead of just buying another Aussie.
