There is NOONE in the league as overpaid, and underperfoming as Lyon. Thats the reason why i have chosen to expose this issue rather than some other player. I'm glad that you agreed on the price tag, because thats what this thread was about. He was doing OK, but now he isnt and is therefore the worst buy this 2007 season IMO. However on the point of 'solid' season, i have to disagree. He is about as solid and as useful as Daniel Wagon, yet we pay the bloke peanuts and he is lucky to get a call up - Lyon is paid 500K and is picked no matter what.

What do you propose Manly do? The deal is done and dusted.

I actaully atribite his bad form to Des continually picking him in 5/8th.

The past few weeks prior to the souths game he was playing some great footy. Back to 5/8th and he's as useful as Brett Finch.

Does anyone actually know if he is on $500k? Half the figures reported in the press are always overstated.

I have heard he is on around $400k, based on performance it should be lower than that. Maybe $300k, however I am still not upset we signed him for whatever we did.

Yeh he was worth it... So will Lyon He's worth every cent still would like him at parra but what can ya do... (He's an excellent centre btw not 5/8)

for someone on 500k, you'd expect much more...i was waiting for him to get himself involved in the game at 24-18 and at least try and make something happen...but he was nowhere to be seen..

He is. Lyon has probably played more games with Manly than broken fingernail sonny. And btw 3 good games a year doesnt mean your worth whatever he is on. If i was the dogs ceo i would put a clause in his contract for the amount of matches he plays for the club and also any off field incidents will come out of his own pocket, he will be seeing 20k a year and rightly so.:lol:
