Judiciary Charges 2019

If a can of worms was to be opened it would have been with the insanely dubious suspension Willie Mason got for it in 2015.

This has been going on forever. You only give a shit now because it's that dude fr your team.

This freak show isn't stopping any time soon.
I was critical of the Tariq Sims suspension as well, if you must know.

Then you should realise that nothing is going to happen, no heads will roll and the bullshit that has gone on for half a decade now will continue to go on.

Stop acting like this stupid decision is epoch defining.

I do realise that. It doesn't mean I cannot be critical of a stitch-up that has happened for reasons not connected with player safety.

Saying it's going to open a can of worms is pretty ridiculous hyperbole.

This is the judiciary. They are stupid. It's not changing anytime soon. Deal with it.

What opens a can of worms is having two classes of shoulder charge. One when trying to stop a try which Annesley just this week has given the green light to, and the other at other times which gets you 2 weeks.

Now either shoulder charges are dangerous or they're not. Whether a try is being scored doesn't make them less dangerous. Nonetheless, the distinction has only this week been rubber stamped by Annesley in his weekly briefing as justification for not citing Dufty. That is the can of worms that has been opened THIS WEEK, not 50 years ago. Shoulder charges are either dangerous or they are not. Capiche?

You keep telling yourself that.

Nothing appreciable will happen and the NRL and its judiciary will continue to be stupid morons making rules up on the fly. They'll probably completely forget this in two weeks time and suffer no sanction from it.

Capiche?

Ponga not charged.

Not buying into the Ponga NRL golden boy conspiracy theory at all... but surely Kikau must feel very hard done by with what he copped...

Ponga stopped contesting the ball and launched his shoulder into the head of a tigers player. First contact was to the head, has to be at least a week off.

Let’s just stop and think for a minute, what would be the result had ponga been victim to a hit like that!

Kalyn 'protected species ponga bit charged because it was 'accidental'.

It is not possible to accidentally shoulder charge someone, it is a deliberate action, just like tackling. The accidental part would be point of contact which is irrelevant here because the action is illegal.

They really are petrified of him going to union.

Good decision. Braced for impact as Chee Kam was pushed toward him by Hunt.

Hope Chee Kam's okay.

Kalyn Ponga is a brilliant young player, that was not intentional against the Burmese super star Michael Chee Kam. There was no malice intended at all.

Just like most that get charged! Kikau's tackle wasn't anywhere near as dangerous as Ponga's, who deliberately led with the shoulder and was never attempting to make a tackle.
He is a protected pretty boy!

The judiciary is a bit of joke really. There’s no consistency, they need to look & get advice from the English Super League officials. It’s a tougher game in the UK & there’s no where near the amount of charges & inconsistency with officials.
