They explained it pretty well last night. After the league got stricter on punching, players started slapping each other. So now there are harsher penalties for slapping. Walker's looked more of a palm strike than a slap.

If you're going to whinge about the rules of the game at least go and familiarise yourself with the rules.

I know the bloody rules. The fact is the rules are stupid and the enforcement of said rules is done by idiots

So what do you want? Do you want open slather on players punching each other, slapping each other? Because if they don't penalise players for doing it they will do it more often. Is that what you want?

But anyway he got a small monetary fine, he isn't missing a game on that charge.

I think Joey has spent too much time in the commentary box with Gus' whinging. The players get restless and start throwing handbags at each other - generally when the ref loses control of the game and the refs generally lose control of the game when they don't penalise niggling or wrestling in the ruck. So Johns whinges when there is a bit of push and shove but will also whinge when the ref penalises teams too much. I'm no referee sympathiser but who do they get this balance right?

Nobody cared about Wrestling for the first few years either, now that is more a blight on the game than anything else.

The NRL banned punching because of CTE risks. If players want to fight join a boxing club. The MRC does suspend players who punch. Who has been suspended for farting? If players repeatedly commit acts which aren't in the spirit of the game and continue to do it after getting a fine then the punishment escalates. Why is this so difficult to understand?

I think the MRC and referees and NRL in general is guilty of being too inconsistent with many areas of the game but they are getting most of these right lately.

Goseiewski got let off because he pushed a player - but you're complaining about the game going soft? You're all over the shop mate. The only thing I agree with in your post is the Parker trip being too lenient. I don't think trips should be a fine as they are potentially dangerous.

Conversely , If anyone in their right mind thinks that what Walker did was such a horrendous offence that it deserved a penalty, a sin bin and a citing then the same mindset needs to be applied to what Goseiewski did
