First piece of good news for a while 👍

Some big questions to answer next year with Griffin, McCullough & Hunt all out of contract. Personally in 2024 I’d like to see the reins handed over to Amone & Sullivan with a younger more innovative coach.

Griffin has already shown his reluctance to change picking mostly the same team every week regardless of results.

I’m expecting more of the same next year but I’m very optimistic about 2024.

Win for the club. We will know for sure what type of player he is by the end of 24 and worth resigning. At least it demonstrates ongoing commitment by the club in the juniors. We now only have to get a coach to develop them !
Yes agree but the timing of this release let us say was to quell some negative stuff out there ATM

You know we put that much pressure on Juniors, some media outlets have tagged him as a "Star Half" , really !!! Then players like Keary, Reynolds, Munster and Hunt, they must be demi-gods !!!!! It has been over the last few weeks that we are saying he hasnt done much, if its the game plan, the coach, whatever, its plain to see Hunt has control. The kid hasn't pulled a game out of the fire for us, hasnt had a breakout year, if we read the early posts about this kid it seems he is hampered to play footy. something is terribly wrong. Next year undoubtedly we will have a new spine and possibly a new coach, I would like to see him play eyes up risk taking footy which he is capable of, let the mistakes happen and learn, and once we see the REAL Amone I'll be happy to call him a future star. But for now with this coaching regime and game strategy I have to be honest and say I dont see to much development.

When you think about it our squad is made up of old men past their prime McCullough, McGuire, Sims, Woods. Mbye, Moga & Hunt then kids Ramsey, Amone, Feagai & Sloan.

Only Molo’s Lawrie, Lomax, de Belin, Suli & Su’a could be considered to be in their prime. No wonder we are a rabble.

We expect too much from old veterans & rookies.

I’ll admit I have been very cranky with my comments about Amone lately. I guess I forget he is 20 years old with 30 games under his belt. My bad. Hope he kicks on in 2023
It's a very good point. I think Dylan Brown is a good comparison, he's really only found consistency and started to play to his potential this year, but he's 2 years older, with 4 years and 75 games in the NRL now. There's plenty of time for Amone to find his feet and become a top class NRL player.

Why wait until 2024?

Amone was good today 3 meat pies and a beautiful pass to Moga to score, defence was good and kicking as well, could this be the his breakout game today and he starts taking a bit more control..
It was. But he still looks a yard slow ATM
Today was the game our backs should of backed up our slow winger and won it on the bell
Mybe was the only one there but could not posiiton himself amongst 6 Raiders
Feagai should of looked for support better when he turned inside or put a kick towards the posts or wider (Hunt was next to arrive, where was Ramsay?)

Great news for Amone and well deserved. Amone had a god solid season and will only get better. Glad he got a heap of games under his belt.
I think he will simulate the efforts of Dylan Brown who showed he was going to be an imposing player in 2020, then had an irregular season 2nd year around but has been close to Parra's best this year which showed in his standout performance for NZL against Tonga.
