I came across a rumour today from a very very creditable source regarding the future of the coashing staff at the Dragons. I think it will be quite likley that Phil Gould takes on some sort of role in the coaching staff for the dragons with the intent to replace Nathan Brown when his contract expires. Just a rumor!

It was floated as a rumour about 1-2 months ago that Gould would be joining the coaching staff. Last month in his newspaper column, Gould effectively knocked this rumour on the head in declaring his ongoing allegiance to Easts.

Truth is, Gould has been bandied about as a possible Dragons coach for the last 5 years.

For 2006 at least, Nathan Brown's job is safe. That's a gimme.

What do you guys think about Gould joining the Dragons coaching staff. I reckon he would make a great addition although IMO Nathan Brown is doing an excellent job as coach but if they could have Gould in as an assistant or consultant IMO it would be good

Im very happy with Nathan Brown at the moment. No need to get rid of him for Gould.

If Gould wants to come in and assist Brown, I'm sure he'd be welcomed in the right spirit and Gould would be paid accordingly.

But I think the Gould coaching Saints horse bolted some time ago.

Yeah it was at the end of 1991 when Canberra had their salary cap trouble. Imagine if we had him in the 1992 and 1993 grand finals we would have at least won one of them if not both

When? Maybe in five years. But imo, he's part of the culture now.

The club has been bending over backwards to keep Baz for years now - a lot of investment. Can't see him being let go in the foreseeable future.

Yep, because Farrar developed him so well at the Steelers / Saints that he feels there's unfinished work in the desolate North Of England...
