Does anyone else think that maybe... Possibly, Hunt could play fullback and Dugan moves back to the centres?
Hear me out. I know everyone will say we need Dugan's damaging running from the kick return and defending at the back, and I agree. We do need that completely, and Dugan is the best in the comp at it. But Hunt was incredible tonight against the Cowboys in attack and defence. That try saver on Hannant was spectacular and Hunt's speed is clearly the quickest in our entire squad. He seems to have no fear on his kick returns, he runs fast and hard at the defence. I feel like the easy option is to put him on the wing and have Dugan at fullback, but I feel like Hunt's talents are wasted on the wing. Besides, i've seen a few interviews where Dugan was asked about what he preferred to play, centre or fullback, and he seemed to say that he really enjoyed centre, but was happy to play fullback for the team.
Maybe this way Matautia moves to the wing instead of Nabuli?
I don't know. I'm confused about this one. Hunt HAS to be in the 17 somewhere. He's been showing this form in NSW cup as well.
Thoughts people?

Baffled why Hunt was overlooked for Nabuli....the Fijian Flyer he is not. How come he has not played before? Looked super solid to me..

Hunt was signed by us from Parramatta when Hayne was at fullback, so obviously he wasn't getting ahead of him. But he's had Dugan ahead of him here since he's joined us.
Perhaps he takes that wing spot ahead of Nabuli. But he'd be pretty good at fullback too where he'd have a lot more space to wind up that speed.
The Benji/Dugan combo when Dugan was player centre last year was pretty lethal too..

Play the Origin fullback in the centres to accomodate a fringe first grader, I've heard that one somewhere before. Quinlan ringing any bells? Where is he now.
Dugan is the fullback, Hunt can play wing.

I have always wanted Dugan to play at right center rather than fullback, imo he is more dangerous in the centers and he combines well with benji. I would rather see another full game with hunt at fullback first, but lets say he does take the fullback spot then:

1.Hunt
2.Matautai
3. Aitken
4. Duges on the right side

That try saver by Hunt was the best play all game!

Dicko, did Hunt look like a fringe first grader tonight? He was one of the best players on the field.
I'm not saying it should happen, as I said I was a little torn, and I acknowledge how damaging Dugan is at the back. It was just a thought that I wouldn't mind seeing for one game to see how it goes.

Totally agree Tom . I think until we have another option for a speedster in the centres Dugan should go back there . The side would certainly have more attacking options with him there . Hunt was impressive tonight & looked like the only dragon who would break the line with his speed . The boys had a real dig tonight their completion rate was sensational . Under Price the team fielded tonight would of been cut up . Mary really is a leader & u can tell all the players want to buy what he is selling :thumb

Though he played his heart out tonight and one thing I did like he ran the ball back hard even though he new he was in for a belting...none of this side ways stuff that a lot of fullbacks display today....hes not a big bloke but runs with determination....havnt seen that from someone his size since Gary Jack (Tigers) and for the oldies on here Les Johns (Canterbury)...not saying hes as good, but pleasing to see someone take his opportunity.

To add to my last post I also think Pete M would be a better option on the wing instead of Nabuli . Not that I dont think Pete is a bad centre its more of a well balanced side if he was on the wing so we could put Duges back at centre & hunt at fullback .

Never going to happen Dugan stays at fullback and Hunt will have to fight it out for the wing spot.

He is running out of opposition anyway Farrell and Glymin and injured leaving Nabuli and Runciman.

Nabuli dropped again looks like he is out of favour leaving Runciman who is really a centre anyway.

Even though these blokes are injured I still think Hunt would be ahead of them anyway.
The problem with Hunt is that I feel as if he's a genuine fullback and should be playing there. Of course any fullback can play on the wing, but when Hunt has space to move he looks pretty deadly. I'm not sure what his passing game is like, he didn't get much of a chance to pass to his centres tonight.

Dugan is the best fullback in the club.

Justin Hunt was belted tonight but kept getting up. We had a rookie fullback who looked light on weight but looked tougher than the majority of our forwards.

Hope he stays in the backline, but wouldn't be surprised if he gets a better offer.

I think you're on the money Willow. He'll probably get a better offer at a club who needs a fullback.
I don't know that Hunt will want to play wing. He might look at a club who will be willing to play him at FB full time in first grade.

Isn't a rookie had played first grade at Souths and the Eels.

Has played on the wing before so it isn't foreign to him and I rather see him then Farrell.

Played for Souths - Inglis fullback

Played for Eels - Hayne Fullback

Played for Dragons - Dugan fullback.

Poor guy can't catch a break haha.
