Poore played well last night dont know what he needs to do to win the supporters over.
With the loss of mateo we could even use Poor in the second row

8.Mannah
10.Fui

11.Hindmarsh
12.Smith
13.Poore

15.Horo
16.Shackleton
17.Tim Robinson or that Pele fella

Poore is getting better. His upright running style will always make it look like he is being dominated in tackles. His stats are good as posted by The Parraboy. He also attracts at least 3 defenders on every tackle and would be more threatening if he could develop an offload. Fui has adjusted to attracting those kinds of defensive numbers by developing an offload and has cut down the number of times he has tried to offload when it is a bad time.

I can't agree with you at all tezza. I thought Poore was very good on Saturday - apart from that one mistake.

I would take Poore over Caylo any day of the week.

Ive liked poore from the start, he was very good the other night and look i know Mannah has been great but we havent seen him start yet, the other 3 are starting props, mannah at the moment is a impact prop. Poore is being unfairly treated cause he was state of origin prop last year and everyone is expecting that great form to continue. He is now behind 2 players and is starting on the bench, he is a starting prop and like every prop loves the first 15mins of a game, he is a bashing prop not an impact prop. Look id go with poore and caylo to start with moi moi and mannah on bench for saints game, moimoi as we know can make a huge impact.

i dont see the problem, he came on and made a good amount of metres and did a terrific job in defense. sure he got hit hard in a couple of tackles but that comes with playing prop. Poore is always willing to take a run to get us on the front foot, he took more hit ups and made more metres than our other props and thats all we can ask from the guy. Grothes poor options and our long kicking game had a far bigger impact on us losing the game than Poore's performance.

Can you please elaborate on this?

not passing to reddy with the try line wide open and not supporting reddy close to the line when he threw the offload that went to ground which would have been a try.

i'm not blaming grothe for the loss, i just dont see why Poore gets a special thread after each game and the other 16 dont?

And Grothe allowing that kck to bounce at the end, but he at least rolled his sleeves up and had a dig. Unlike INU who was woeful all round.

:clap: Totally with you about the Poore comment, seems like when people like grothe wont get a word written about them if they have a bad game or make a mistake but if its poore or morts etc they will get about 3 threads about them and how they shouldnt be on the team.

fair enough.... Was out of character for Guru not to pass I thought. Usually it's Inu that has trouble hogging the ball.

We just took them too lightly, and I agree Poore cops wayy too much. He was solid.

Sorry mate, but that's a load of sh*t. Eric is the forum's serial scape goat.

Well how about not get dominated when he hits the line about 8 out of every 10 times.

I know he has a dig and makes ok meters generally, but it is that domination in the ruck that is pathetic and the ensuing slower play the ball.

The reason Mannah looks so great isn't because he is making tons more meters then anyone else really, but because of the impact at the collision and then his determination to get a quick play the ball going, without getting rolled over on his back. That gets the defense on the back foot straight away and the tacklers are often in no-mansland.

Yes his upward running style is part of the problem and he needs to work it out or he will often get pushed back a meter or two in tackles, thus limiting his impact for the team and continue to look second rate not only to many league fans but to the rep selectors too.

On a side note: On Mannahs' quick play the balls, he was the centre of attention (I think it was on the Roast) how quick he was doing them, but how they were incorrectly being done, without his foot touching the ball and not in an upright position, most times. They also mentioned Michael Weyman, but Mannah got the full treatment and video footage. Well the NRL and referees being the amateurs, therefore reactionaries that they are, I would not be surprised to see a blitz of penalties starting from this weeks game.

I am getting confused by the whole quick play the ball thing, if they are trying to play the ball, but are only half upright becasue the defence is still hanging on to them, shouldn't the team in possession get the penalty?

Well it all comes down to interpretation by the refs in the end. If a player is holding on to the ball carrier to long and not doing his best to allow the play the ball to take place, or if the ball player is trying to play the ball way to fast and not giving the defensive players time to release him. It is the referee that has to interpret that as correctly as possible.

It is not just a case of being upright, but being on your two feet and not on your hand/hands when playing the ball. If that happens in this weeks game then I expect we will see penalties. The point of making sure that your foot touches the ball when playing back the ball is not a major concern, as the referees have for some time now stated that as long as the player makes an effort to touch the ball with his foot in the act of playing the ball, then that is ok. But again it will not surprise me to see a penalty for this too by this lot of amateurs after the criticism they received on the weekend.
