Im a Trade Union man through and through, and you should get paid for your work - but when we struggle to afford any International Tests involving the Kangaroos, the RLPA should think about the end goals of their objectives.

I actually think the Rep players payments should be MUCH bigger, but it should come directly from the club salary cap.....

It would give the ARLC a LOT more control over player payments, and cut away the power of the clubs. The top players would still get their huge pay packets, but it would boost rep football and cut down the player misbehaviour. And players would be screaming for more and more rep games.

(And players would probably be less focused on negotiating contracts and more focused on performing well enough to make the rep teams. SO less club hoping)

Even if the Rep match itself loses money, the overall balance sheet would not change.....

Would be difficult for the Kangaroos to earn match payments without matches...

The Wallabies numbers are misleading because most of them are on general central contracts as well. Not to mention they might play many more games per year.

They play 12-15 games per year. Kangaroos play 2 games a year these days.
