Rumoured to be joining us at Whitehaven ENL1.
Any info on this guy is appreciated, all i know is he was born in Cumbria before moving back with his parents to NZ.
Our ex coach Stan Martin said recently we were going to sign him but it all went quiet till now.

Cheers in advance

Karl Edmondson (correct spelling) played for NZ A in 2003 when they basically got
whipped by nearly everyone in the North of England tour (athough they drew with
Cumbria).

These days, he plays prop but was a loose forward then. He played for Waitakere Rangers
in the Bartercard Cup and the Glenora Bears prior to that.

TBH.....not sure that he would win a premiership for you.

Goes ok, but he's not a Steve Price.

Stan would certainly know what was happening and I believe there are more than
a few players off overseas, following the demise of the Bartercard Cup.

Cheers

Exuse my ignorance, but how has the demise of the Bartercard Cup come about? I hadn't heard anything....How will this affect the Warriors junior system and New Zealand junior system in general?

Ged Stokes was going to bring Karl over to play for Town after the 2003 NZ 'A' tour but Edmondson changed his mind. At that time he was quite a mobile unit if he has moved to prop does that mean he has bulked up or slowed down or both???

stokesy was sacked, on a trumped up charge of mis conduct and is now taking town to court for unfair dismissal and by all accounts has a very strong case

our coach at whitehaven dave rotherham has not had his contract renewed and has moved to workington town as their new coach

we are looking for a new coach

back to edmundson, looking at his stats this season played in all 20 games (so he doesnt look injury prone) and score 5 tries not a bad return for a prop, whats he like taking it in, does he burst tackles or off load, or is he a hard yards and quick play of the ball prop

heres a couple of match highlights of haven to give you an idea of the standard of rugby

Absolutely fantastic stuff mate....the come back from hell in that Halifax game.

Great stuff, really appreciate you posting those.

Dave Fats, Aaron Lester and Leroy Joe.........now there are some names from the past.
You tend to forget that these guys even exist, much less are still playing.

I'll show these to Stan Martin, your ex Coach.

I knew that Gerrard had been sacked but was considering the unfair dismissal route.

Interesting to see how that goes...it could well cripple that club.

Cheers again
