The last two games have shown me that the coaching staff have realized this as well. We have a 7 who's role is to inject himself from time to time by running the ball and taking the tackle 5 kick option.
Lucky have Paulo, Kelly and Hayne to counter that.
Having said that, the Dogs seem to cope OK with a one dimensional 7 (KK) so maybe we need to mimic their style of play.
Well it seems that way every year then round 1 the boring team is back. Also, the Bulldogs style of play is just an advance on what Manly was doing last year and what we started in 2009 with the offloads and what Brisbane has done in previous years with the forwards passing at the line. Hasler is a smart coach he doesn't just copy the plays of other teams he sees what is successful and breaks it down then uses his teams best assets.
the dogs are one dimensional, yes, but they have some incredible ball runners in the side and forward pack that are able to play before the line extremely well.
I wouldn't call the Bulldogs one dimensional. When the forwards go to the line they can charge at the line, pass the ball flat, offload the ball after the impact, pass the ball back to the ball players or Barba and with all these options the defence will make mistakes. The thing is they have worked on it all year and now they are selecting the right play more often.
Keating may pass the ball but Reynolds is starting to learn how to control a game and like you said dagerous options out wide in space is helpful.
What I want us to do is get our forwards to attract the defence and Sandow and Hayne to get the space off the back of that. I want Tonga to beat a tackle or pass the ball when the winger is unmarked. Blair and Morgan are quick and strong and can cause damage if they get space and Sio looks a good finisher.
