Mainlined by Greenday and Xzibit.

Apart from the Australian award recipiants, where was the Australian content.

The first awards show generally has to feature overseas acts, if you don't want a ratings bomb.......by the way, i get the feeling that you didn't watch them because you didn't see Missy Higgins or Eskimo Joe or Thirsty Merc and The Dissociatives? They all performed on the night.......so i don't get what you're saying...you can add Grinspoon to that list

What people don't get is that.......it is only another MTV award ceremony........you will not get that much exposure for an awards show featuring only Australian acts...plus, that's what the ARIAs are for - and even they feature non-Australian talent

We ahve a very good music industry in this country imo, and we also have enough legends of the industry to do the presenting.

People don't watch the MTV awards to watch the Osbornes, they wouldn't do anything for the ratings. People would want to see the award winners, not the people who present them imo.

Yeah, i do understand what you're saying but when its MTV, they're going to go with something gimmicky that will appeal to the kids...i don't think there is anyone in the Australian music industry who could really deliver when it comes to presenting the awards shows...no one would want to do it anyway.......hell, the Oscars had Chris Rock - to save it from bombing and that didn't even help

While on the topic of how much MTV sucked......i watched it on channel 10 last nite and far out. It was song, award then ad break......etc.
I gave up watching and it was weird how they showed the harbour bridge and then had like.....all American artist performing/ giving out awards ( when i was watching anywayz).
No-one knows many Aussies anyway so there was no point in having Australians hosting the show.
