Just thought I would come on here and say THANK-YOU for letting us have Kev. Since moving into stand-off he has been fantastic and was MOTM vs our win over St Helens on Sunday. His defence was suspect at first, but at 6 he doesnt need to do much and his attack is brilliant.

I cant believe you are considering signing Aaron Moule when Buddha is playing as he is. The Salford fans love him and he has become a favourite on the terraces, his face when 2,000 Salford fans were chanting 'Buddha! Buddha! Buddha!' said it all..he loves us to.

I hope we keep hold of him and he doesnt return to the NRL, which going off his current form he may well do.

:D

Good to hear Buddha is doing well! We all knew he would kill it over there, and frankly this Manly supporter as well as others doesn't know why we let him go in the first place   Is he playing 5/8!?

Hmmmm....Reminds me of another ex-Magpie, one Les Boyd.

He loved it in the Old dart and the pommies loved him too.

Sheddy....you may be interested to know his bro Ken just as recent as last week announced his retirement.

Maybe the Reds CEO should give im a bell....?

Good to hear Buddha's bein appreciated anyway over there....more than can be said of his treatment at Manly.

Yes he is playing 5/8 and boy is he doing it well. I've been told he was treated badly at Manly which knocked his confidence right out of him whereas now at Salford he's re-built that back up.

That's because he was useless.

He would get eaten alive in the NRL at 6. You are closer to the ruck at 5/8th, therefore, you do more tackling.

Oh well, as long as he has fun in front of 2 thousand Salford fans. I hope he enjoys division 1 just as much.

2,000? :? Were 9th in Super League, this past week we have just beaten St Helens and were moving into a new £35,000,000 state-of-the-art stadium in 2006.

Hmm, that or being battered every week with Manly? :D

Kevin McGuiness is magic, he wears a magic hat
And when he came to Salford he said I fancy that
He could have stayed with Manly, but didnt cos they're sh*t
Instead he signed with Salford cos were f*cking dynamite

9th out of 12, 1 win above 11th.

Just beaten St Helens? Yippee.. Aren't they the team that lost 70-0 a couple of weeks ago?

You can have the worlds best stadium, but guess what? There will be no one going! The stadium holds 10 thousand which is less than our average crowd!

Your on the border of the second largest city in England, yet you average less than a 3rd division Soccer team. Waste of space..

The same St Helens that beat Huddersfield Giants 50-10 the week previous.

Our new stadium will have a 20,000 capacity built on the purpose that the shopping mall, 4 star hotel and casino will give us added income in which we can afford to buy world-class players.

The game over here is a lot easier? The first example must be Bradfords humilation over NRL champs Penrith at the beginning of the season. How about players such as De Vere, Blacklock, Drew, Fa'afili coming over to play in it? Yet Jason Smith and Matty Adamson are heading the other way? Whether you like it or not Super League has caught up to the NRL over the past few years especially now teams are producing their own youngsters such as McGuire, Horne, Mathers etc.

The very fact that we are on the border of the second largest City in England explains our low crowds. Rugby League isnt as big over here and football (Soccer) is huge and the number 1 sport. Even you lot should have heard of Manchester United the worlds biggets club, which is 10 minutes away from the Willows (Salfords current stadium).

9th and if we beat Widnes on Saturday 5 points behind Warrington and 6 behind Huddersfield with a possible 12 points left and those teams still to play this year. We can still make the play-offs.

Buddha cant kick, he doesnt kick he just gets the ball gives it out and puts on the moves. Due to his size and speed once he finds a gap he can exploit it and turn it into a break.

I wouldn’t read anything into that!………..Penrith had not played a game for months! you can’t expect them to be as good as they were when they had regular games etc. Give yourself a triple!

Blacklock, Drew, Fa’afili are all unwanted by their NRL clubs…….plus the $$$ are a bigger in the UK. De Vere wants to set up his career after football and is going to the retirement farm ie. ESL.

Jason Smith and Matty Adamson want to be part of a real competition again!

Wow, I didn't think Huddersfield had become the benchmark

As I said earlier, you may have the worlds biggest stadium but your club doesn't have the pull to attract anyone.

Don't give me the old, "but Man U.. Man City.." crap. The Sale Sharks seem to do quite well on the same turf, yet you guys have never had a crowd over five figures for as long as anyone can remember.

It's off season right now in the soccer and has been for a while, are you saying soccer fans hibernate during the Summer?

Think about this, McGuiness couldn't make first grade in the NRL yet he is a superstar in Super League. You do the maths.

Keep in mind Penrith hadn't played a game in over a month and had to play in near subzero temperatures when they had just come from 30+.

De Vere = unwanted, too injury prone and getting old
Blacklock = biggest turnstile in the comp, can finish a try but he lets in more than he scores.
Drew =   Unwanted by Parramatta and has either been on the bench for Canberra (9th?) or playing PL.
Fa'afili = I rate him the most out of the players you mentioned. But its obvious he has dollar signs in his eyes...

Who are these youngsters you speak of? Super League will never be at the same level of NRL. Great Britain may have players of the same quality as Australia, but the competitions will never be equal.

Sale Sharks have had success due to the yawnion world cup, and even then the crowds are nothing special. Plus they are not 10 minutes away from the worlds biggest football club, this doesnt just attract fans to Man Utd but the kids want to play football not Rugby League. You wouldnt believe how hard Salford are trying to improve the sport in what isnt a traditional Rugby League area.

Many 'soccer' fans pay out £600 for a season ticket at football that they cannot afford to pay £12 for a Salford match each week.

I understand how shocked you are about McGuiness and I seen him play for Manly and I too thought the same. He looked weak, poor in attack and the same in defence although a couple of years previous with Wests he did look good. I have been told Buddha was made a scapegoat for some poor results and had his confidence knocked right out of him? If you could see him play now, believe me you wouldnt have the same view.

Danny McGuire, Richard Horne, Karl Fitzpatrick, Gareth Ellis, Gareth Hock, Richie Mathers to name a few.

Look at Hull FC, they averaged the same crowd sizes as us now they have 10,000 + most games, why? Because people get interested by the stadium and the players that the club can bring in due to the revenue.

We are set to sign a top class NRL centre according to the club, so lets see who it is.

Just to say McGuiness has signed a new 3 year deal with the club, check out www.reds.co.uk for more details.

Nice one Shed Lad, for being persistant, but, I'd give up trying to talk to this lot about rugby, as all they seem to do is bag off Super League!
Seems like sour grapes to me, just cos Buddha is doing well over here.

Top class centre we signed today is Junior Langhi from The Eels, now that should spark off another load of abuse!!
