King Gutho linked to Dragons

I think Parra had too many cooks in the kitchen (and 2 captains), too much politics around the Brad Arthur situation... and needed a fresh start... and Ryles might be proved right, most teams have a lightning quick fullback in the modern game.

But I'm more than happy to be taking a punt on Gutho, we cant keep being the yoyo team who leaks soft tries.. those soft tries lead to hunched shoulders and then more soft tries.. we need to change the mentality..., and Gutho is part of that.. its much more than just the on-field.. and we were also screaming for leadership after a decade of noone.

Having Gutho in the gong though is just the best news.. it means he's all in.. he loves the northern beaches.. its his life... but he would have hated the commutes.. hated going to training.. now it'll be just down the road.. hes going to live and breathe the club.

FFS wake up and at least try and understand the context of the post which was in response to a question about Ryles & his decision re Gutherson.

I believe SF is now on a far better trajectory in regards to what we actually need at this time as compared to what the Eels need and that is essence of the point that was being made.

For the record if people are going to crawl up SF's arse for the Lomax decision then you have to also judge him on other matters.

He kept picking Lawrie, persisted with Sloan and kept Hunt who was nothing but cancerous so that is all firmly on him.

He persisted with these failures and kept picking the overwhelmingly under-whelming never going to make it Feagai's and that is a fact.
Yes because he had no better options in reggies

Salty. He have his all for Parra and on the way out you accuse him of being a mercenary.
I get it though, it’s natural to death ride your player after they go to the enemy, I’ll be looking forward to Lomax flick passes to the third row and the tantrums when he is asked to play wing, his best position.
ot salty, just stating the obvious he was always going to whoever offered him the best deal, I’m sure it wasn’t his life long dream to play with Illawarra Dragons, good luck to him he got a good deal, we have Lomax much younger and cheaper:)

I don't agree.

Plenty of options he could have tried but chose not to.

The only good thing to come out of some of the selections he persisted with is that a few have been offloaded or are being sent back to Reggie's hopefully never to return or replaced.
Such as ? nobody else came knocking for what he was after, fact is fact !!

What options were better playing reggies?, Did you go and watch a reggies game?
There were no forwards who could step up, Tamale great attacker, terrible defender and would of been worse in 1st grade.
Your last statements sounds like you agree with me as some selections were right

A player going to the club that offers him the best deal? Shock horror.
Anyway, must be hard for you, were you alive to see 1986?

The defence in 1st grade was already disgusting as was the attack

I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that many supporters would have been prepared to have a player with the pace of Tamale irto score a try out there instead of the slow poke poor tackling Feagai’s etc.

Now you’re telling me that Lawrie was a better option than R Couchman or blooding Tuitavake or at least seeing if anything further could be done with Fafitta ?

Ffs Anybody was an upgrade on Feagai’s and Lawrie

Still a class act in the way he spoke about Parra, as compared to our 2 departing morons !!!
Agree Justa. Gutho has shown his captaincy class in this whole transition. Respectful and thankful to the team he played with for many years. Honouring and enthusiastic about the direction of the new club. Then he declares his commitment to move to the ‘Gong to be fully in on the future. Benny meanwhile moved only as close as the Shire, is known for not connecting to the players, and plays his contract negotiations out negatively in the media, loosing respect as he leaves the club.
One behaves like a captain, the other thankfully is no longer our captain
