He was a mess out there haha
Looked like a rookie who didnt know what he was doing, just chasing the ball every where, getting smashed and wore himself out after 10 minutes

He's too good a footballer for that to continue and with more minutes over the next few weeks you'd expect better output, but boy it was an ordinary stint first up Haha

It was probably just a good exercise to get him feeling the pace of the game now. Not a bad game to do it, Raiders were a bit off in the 2nd half, but it was still played at a high intensity. Probably the closest he will get to feel what the finals will be like until they roll around for real. If they can get him conditioned for a solid 20 minutes in the finals he will have done his job.

What circle jerk?

When people were having a sook about the signing we were telling anyone who listened that he would be a 20 minute bench player.

His first game back went exactly how we thought it would.

Nah, the Roosters fans were very tempered in their hype - although this was at times because they wanted to play down the fact he'd been signed for $100k.

The media, on the other hand, and Fox the worst, sucked him off like I have very seldom ever seen before. I think actually live vision of him being sucked off by a Fox commentator might have been less disgusting, such was the awfulness of the whole thing.

In fact I didn’t actually see him miss a tackle or have a bad touch so why is he getting bagged?
Because he's Sonny Bill and "tall poppy syndrome" is Australia's national sport.

Also all the recidivists in here haven't learned a thing after bagging SBW mercilessly following his first game back off the bench in rnd 1, 2013.

It was "I told you so's" all round after Burgess hammered him in one tackle. Of course what followed was the greatest season ever seen by a forward.

Now he's no longer that player; but would any league fan with a brain be seriously surprised if he comes up with a dominant stint or two of footy in the finals that wins a Premiership?

At what point did this forum in its entirety turn into a contrarian bag-a-thon? Entire match threads are just tenuous South Park gifs and people rushing to make the most obvious or repetitive jokes they can to farm likes. I’m sure there used to be a bit of actual footy discussion and not just the world’s worst comedy show combined with the same 12 dimwits endlessly calling every player shit?

That was a disgrace last night. A puke-inducing disgrace. I like SBW and he sure as shit didn't entice it, but the carry on with the amount of discussion of him, the constant camera time, the overshadowing of the game and J Moz's 300th, the constant narrative around a guy who played 13 minutes was just the most pathetic thing I've seen.

Then you open up NRL.com now and the main story is 'every touch from SBW's return' and 'Robinson likes what he saw in SBW's 13 minutes'.

Why don't they just go ahead and do the full click bait headline - YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT SBW LOOKS LIKE NOW

So lame.

I was at a venue last night showing the game but I couldn't really hear the commentary. I took a look here to see if I was right in imagining the game commentary was a non-stop SBW wankfest and it seems like I was right...
