taniella just came back from injury, first game last week against raiders, scored a heaps good try, be interesting to see how he goes next couple of weeks, cause although ppl have written him off for another test jersey, he could shine, and he is pretty versatile aswell, can play in forewards as well, which may come in handy. I read somewhere that Iosefa may play if he doesn't make kiwis in an island team, shame (for us) if he does, cause by sounds of things he could be a real talent, playing jr kiwis, i guess priddis is only thing stopping him from playing 1st grade.
also be interesting which super league kiwis come into contention, cause there are alot and some of them have been a bit forgotton, but they r still pretty good, eg cayless.

It's not Priddis it's Elliott.

I just have a feeling Iosefa might do what Inu did last year and get picked from the lower grades. Anyone who has seen Iosefa in the past 2 seasons would tell you he is First Grade standard. The NZ selectors also see this which is good news.

oh so is he as good as priddis?, or should he be on the bench as res hooker? so his chances of getting a test jersey must be pretty good then, guess its between him, fien and faiumu, fiens playing pretty well. havent seen much of david.

Yup Iosefa is a gun! Big mobile unit who can lead his forwards around the park, and is big enough to act as another forward.

well lets hope he gets an opportunity, seems like he deserves it, in both nrl and international seems like he has heaps of potential, be terrible if we lost him (i heard he may play for another coutnry at rlwc), player of the future. but didn't he make kiwis squad last yr? wouldn't that make him inelligable for any other coutnry or is that only if he actually played?

1. Sam Perrett
2. Shaun Kenny-Dowall
3. Chase Stanley
4. Iosia Soliola (or maybe Matai if he comes back in time)
5. Taniela Tuiaki
6. Benji Marshall
7. Ben Roberts
8. Roy Asotasi (c)
9. Masada Iosefa
10. Jeff Lima
11. Sonny-Bill Williams
12. David Fa'alogo
13. Setimata Sa

14. Rangi Chase
15. Frank Pritchard
16. Sam Rapira
17. Greg Eastwood

1-6-7-9 are always conentious positions for the kiwis. Luke looked like a shoe in at hooker until he busted his hand. Ben Roberts is borderline but we need his long kicking game.

I cant believe how many people have SBW as their stand off!
He's a great player, but he's no five eight.
OK I'm guna put my team here... this is presuming Krisnan Inu is going to miss out on the Centennary Test and Benji will be fit.

Kiwis including super league players:
1 - Brent Webb
2 - Shontayne Hape
3 - Setimata Sa
4 - Jerome Ropati
5 - Manu Vatuvei
6 - Benji Marshall
7 - Thomas Leuluia
8 - Nathan Cayless
9 - Nathan Fein
10 - Roy Asotasi
11 - Sonny Bill Williams
12 - David Kidwell
13 - Simon Mannering

14 - Lance Hohaia
15 - Jeff Lima
16 - Sam Rapira
17 - Frank Pritchard

I'm not a fan of playing good players out of position just to fill a current gap unless it's really, really unavoidable. And at this stage it isn't. IMO leave the players doing well in certain positions in those positions. SBW & Ropati should stay where they do what they do best.

With 3 round's of the NRL to go until the may 9 test is on , we can suggest any team we like or hope to rep us , I'm hoping the selectors pick on form and not reputation , Some of our senior kiwi members are just not producing the good's so far , to prove it check it out yourselves on nrl stats its updated after every game and has all 334 nrl players in there with every run kick tackle they do ,
My personal opinion is start fresh inject youth mixed with a bit of expierience , we currently have only two NZers ranked in the top 5 in the nrl at the moment Manu Vatuvai and Shaun kenny dowall both are on the tackle breaks list , try scoring lists , yardage lists , and errors list , to both there defences most of those errors have come from defusing bombs or grubbers in the in goal or bombs on the opposition's try line , I'd throw Russell packer in there this kid is a player for the future we need to blood him know with an eye on the future ,
1,6,7,9, have always been our biggest problems ,
1 Sammy Perrett ( last week 217 running meters 2nd game back )
6 Ben Roberts
7 Rangi Chase
9 David Faiumu

Good balance ,good kicking game , good 9 play options , good organizational ability's , Attacking flair , and most of all MANA we have lacked this for along time , I hope we Don't pick half the squad who toured UK last year they were crap , and you can blame who ever you want , pull on the black jersey you die for it ./

Kiwis

1. Perrett
2. Vatuvei
3.Mannering
4.Ropati (a bit small compared to the Aus centres but seems to play so well in the centres)
5.Chase Stanley
6. Sa (not sure about his eligiibility but i think he would be THE man for the kiwis, they need a big 5/8 and he has a great long kicking game which they have missed in the past).
7. Rangi Chase
8. Asotasi
9. Luke
10. Lima
11. Pritchard (i think he goes much better when he starts a match, will burr up for a big occasion)
12. Cayless
13. SBW

14.Moi Moi
15. Jeremy Smith (Melbourne) or Ben Teo
16. Luaki/Halatau
17.Ben Roberts (personally feel he plays much better coming out of dummy half and would be handy to have on the bench if they wanted to push Sa out wider).

All up i think the centres and the 5/8th are the spots NZ really has to nail, and are pretty hard to pick...maybe Stanley in the centres if he fires in the next couple of weeks, Mannering into the pack and bring in someone else on the wing, there's quite a few to choose from

Faiumu is out of the picture - dont think hes played first grade this year.

They will probably go with Fien against 90% of NZ leagues opinions.

Remember Hohaia has played there and Should be named 14. bench hooker and further back coverage.

Though someone/peoples in the selectors also have a strange soft spot for Halatau so dont be suprised to see him named either at 9 or 14. Hell if they like him that much even in 3. lol

As for Iosefa - pick him if you think he is that good - certainly dont pick him b'coz he mite play for an island nation - thats crap.

Man, Ropati is a centre - him and Sa in the centres or Chase Stanley or Soliola.

Halatau is injured plus hasnt show good form
Hohaia will be on the bench(he can play nearly every position)
if you put SBW at 6 he can still play his game, and you can get an extra back rower in the team

Rangi should be close
