New Zealand selectors have named a train-on squad full of fresh faces ahead of end-of-season rugby league Tests against Australia, Great Britain and France. Roy Asotasi, who captained the Kiwis in this year's Anzac Test against the Kangaroos, heads a list of 18 players chosen from clubs already eliminated from the NRL finals' series.
Ten of the players named are yet to make their Test debuts - St George Illawarra duo Rangi Chase and Chase Stanley, Sydney Roosters pair Shaun Kenny-Dowall and Sam Perrett, Issac Luke and Jeremy Smith (South Sydney), Ben Teo'o and Taniela Tuiaki (Wests Tigers), Cooper Vuna (Newcastle) and Luke Covell (Cronulla).
More players will be added to the squad as teams are eliminated from the finals.
"We'll have a group of players from clubs based around Sydney training together and another group in Queensland of players from Brisbane and Gold Coast," new Kiwis coach Gary Kemble said.
The Kiwis play Australia in the Centenary Test in Wellington on October 14 before three Tests against Great Britain on October 27, November 3 and 10 and a one-off Test against France in Paris on November 17.
The New Zealand Rugby League also announced a preliminary train-on squad for the Junior Kiwis, who play their Australian counterparts in Wellington on October 14.
Meanwhile, the NZRL will make an announcement soon about the team to represent the All Golds in the commemorative match against the Northern Union in Warrington on October 20.
Veteran Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett will be in charge of the side with New Zealand Warriors captain and Australian prop Steve Price also a confirmed starter for the All Golds.
