That is a solid argument. It really sucks that it’s even up for debate.

Our injuries have impacted us yes, but even when things were ok our play style and structure has ALWAYS been questionable under AOB.

For whatever reason we just haven’t evolved as we should have and expected.

And the club needs to figure it out really quick, at very worst this upcoming off season.

The AOB situation is frustrating but if we sack him then realistically who are we getting to replace him? Clubs who sack their coach every couple of years tend to not get good coaches to replace them with.

I think we need to stick with him for the long haul and let him have a shot at fixing the roster.

I said last year that our attacking structure was very rudimentary, I mean alot of the time it's give it to Ponga and hope for the best. The cowboys made 5-6 line breaks tonight just shifting it quickly from their own 40 and stripping us for numbers, it's literally been years since we've made a break from a quick shift from long range.
From a nuffy watching from his lounge room what it looks like is we have a very rigid structure and game plan of one out hit ups and quick play the balls in our own half and then pass it to Ponga and hope for the best in the red zone. I think part of that game plan is down to having halves in Pearce and Mann who don't have any vision and lack the ability to play what's in front of them.
My hope is when Bailey Hodgson is fit he comes in a has a Reece Walsh like impact and we can either mould him into a 5/8th or move KP there

Yeah I don’t want to sack him (yet) but I think he needs some help.

I can understand his post game conference tonight but I didn’t like it too much. Basically said we have to go through pain now so these young blokes get experience and we have some big players coming back from injury.
The thing is if we have a full strength squad and are still garbage and inconsistent what does he say?

Our problem with Hodgson and Young is they came with the need to fit in and gain experience to be ready for 1st grade next season but between them have played little due to injury not sure either or both will be right for 2022, it’s a big leap, think we are putting too much hope on them to succeed and pull us out of this mess, they are still very young.
Bottom line is we have too many players in our top 30 virtually not putting in due to long term injury. Young and Hodgson should have been in our development squad.

If Hodgson is as good as advertised a development deal likely wouldn't have been enough, as I said if he can have a Reece Walsh like impact that would help

Walsh played no footy last year due to Covid and had 3 games in Qcup this year before locking down a FG spot at the Warriors

If they are good enough they'll be ready enough

I'm not expecting him to turn us into a top 8 side overnight but more so moving forward in the future it'd be nice to have another spine player who can offer some sort of attacking threat so our game plan can move beyond just give it to Ponga and hope for the best

frustrates the shit out of me how pedestrian we are in attack. Our backline is just so bad.

When we throw the ball around and stop putting on stupid half bombs, we look pretty dangerous. Pity it's very rare.

Didn't know where to post this so thought I'd post here!

Great to see some old greats play again. The style of play of the game has changed drastically over the years. The players look a lot less fit and athletic compared to today. The match looked like two fighters jabbing each other and getting a feel for the match then boom. Today it looks a lot more structured.

However, we are still playing the old style. We look a lot more like an NRL team from 2003 than 2021... Sad...

Also, nearly every single tackle would have been a send off or binning in today's game. Can really see why the older players have an issue with the head high crack down.

I watched a bit of that. Sterlo called Josh Perry soft haha. I swear I appreciate Steve Simpson the more time goes on as well. Also letting Ben Kennedy go was the true beginning of our downfall.

Amazing how the forwards actually took the hit ups from plays 2-4 in those days, instead of wingers and centres,

It was also heartwarming to see Gordon Tallis charge into the line in the first 5 minutes and get axed by Joey and Bedsy.
