Singleton hasn't said anything above that isn't 100% spot on.
"There's no networking, no communication - it's like doing business in the 1960s. It's pure management incompetence,"
Sums it up perfectly. My limited personal dealings with the club mirror those sentiments.
And this, from an INDEPENDENT auditor:-
"Uncertainty exists as to whether the company (Newcastle Knights) will be able to continue as a going concern...If the company is unable to continue as a going concern it may be required to realise assets and extinguish liabilities"
( Hopefully a few of the liabilities include the incompetent board and management team )
All the above article reflects is what a few of us have been saying for ages about the Knights problems.
Knock him all you like, but Singleton is a genius businessman, who is calling out the Knights for what they are - totally incompetent, and worse still, seemingly without care that they are completely crap at running a business.
The Knights are a one city team that has so much going for it - there's no competition for the team within miles!
Its disgraceful that they are in the position they are in right now. Blame the weather or whatever all you like, but every team has to deal with it too, and they don't have the benefit of having a one city team.
I've mentioned this in the Knights forum, but the greatest example of their incompetence, is during the 20th Anniversary of the club last year, the Knights had no specific merchandise available to honour the occasion. For a team that earned hundreds of thousands of dollars from T Shirt sales after premiership wins, some bright spark at the club forgot to put out 20th Anniversary merchandise in 2007
