Well Vella will finally have an opportunity to out play his opponent, as he is up against Powder Puff Perry.

but my biggest concern isn't so much their players skill level, but how influenced weak minded Tony Archer will be with Bucket Arse whinging and whining in his ear all night.....

"Wah Wah :-({|= They're coming up too quick"..."Wah Wah they're lying all over us in the ruck!!" :-({|=

"Do yo know who i am!":-({|=

It's funny.....Newcastle won the comp in 2001.....but all everyone talks about is the Eels side that year & how they where statistically the best side of all time

From all the talk you'd think Parra won the game...

2001 in the majority of peoples eyes is the year of the Eel.

Newcastle had nothing to do with their slide....a thing called salary cap was the problem....funny how Newcastle can hold onto their players  ....oh well A Johns will be retired soon....they may need to borrow another 2 million dollars of a the Gold Coast

And even though we were down 24-0 we showed who deserved to be the real champions in that second half when again you were given a try that eventually saved you.

        Still living in the past or something? GEEZ! Come on, the trophy was in our cabinet, lets get over it. 2001 was your year until that fateful day in October. It goes to show, being the form team all year doesn't mean you're guaranteed to win the thing!

Anyways, back to the game, I'm hoping it will be a close one, but, if our forwards get a roll on, watch for Butterfingers Tahu  or Flickpass Gidley  to run all over your "great" centre/wing combination.

Isn't it great to see that the Eels supporters are still suffering from the fact that we beat them in the Grand Final.

As much as I love to hear you all whinge and make up all the excuses you possibly can come up with, don't you think that you have been holding onto it for a little bit too long now? I seriously think that it is about time that you built a bridge and got over it.

Maybe you coul dbe lucky and the eels may start to show the form they did in 2001. Thing is it wont be this week!

Anyways, back to the game, I'm hoping it will be a close one, but, if our forwards get a roll on, watch for Butterfingers Tahu or Flickpass Gidley to run all over your "great" centre/wing combination.

Oh yeah and you forgot about the fact that Rusty Richardson is gonna bomb some tries, and they are also under the misunderstanding that they will actually worry Carmont and Seage!

Oh please you seriously have to be kidding me dont you?

Actually you'll find we have gotten over the game....it's Newcastles fans who keep bringing it up.

Yeah Newcastle one?.....we don't care...i was over it a minute after full time, Newcastle deserved the win as they where the better team on the night....not the year, Parra had one bad half..which cost them the game.

I think you'll find melliez that your kind off underestimating our side & their talents!!....for your sake you'd wan't to hope Newcastle win as i'll be all over you like fly on shit! ;-)

That is the biggest load of bollocks ever.. Nobody ever talks about the eels team that year ever, well maybe a few delusioned eels fans. Never during a game of rugby league or durng a tv program do they mention the eels in 2001, although they do mention who won the comp i have heard the 2001 premiers come up quite a few times on rugby league programs and commentry this year already..

Hope that Newcastle will win? I know that they will win don't you worry!

As for underestimating your sides talents, when are they actually going to show some talent that I can underestimate?

Isn't it funny that John Morris wants to model his game around Danny Buderus? like seriously, if you're team is so full of talent, they wouldn't need to model their game around anyone, they should have people modelling their game around them!

He may have been from Newcastle, but I am starting to see a trend happening here, I wonder if any of you can work it out...

I hear it every where.....hell he even you Newcastle fans have brought up over the past couple of days that wonderfull side of ours!.

2001 will always be regarded as how statistically the best side of all time lost the GF.

Even Phil Gould said at the start of the 2002 season we would go through undefeated as our squad was the best....hence the best side.

All you read in the papers is how come " the great Parra side" have gone down hill since?..." and how come all these players have left?....i hear it many times a week....even though it was 3 years ago.

Newcastle where the better team on the night in 2001.....know doubt about it, but we where by far the best side of 2001...and don't take my word for it?....look at the stats our side produced & how far ahead from everyone else we won the Minor Premiership.

We have them beat:

* At fullback (Burt is more experienced and looks in ominous form)

* Left wing (Grothe in great form against Carmont; I am confident it is a no contest)

* Front row (I honestly believe Cannings is WAY better than Perry and Vella on his day can be brilliant)

* Centres (Vaealiki is an international with great all round game; Petersen is an attacking dynamo and as he proved last week he has good defense)

We also have some great advantages:

* The bomb (with Grothe and Freshy who are so tall)

* Hindmarsh, Cayless and Morris are in great form

* Dykes is in stellar form; brlliant and unpredictable

It will be tough, but I tip Parra by 10.

Talents??.....yeah they showed enough talent to win in Brisbane....something your mob has struggles to do since 1988, i guess a win in Melbourne says more huh.

"Morris wants to model his game around Buderus'."

1. What a load of self-inspired crap!

2. Even if that was true, why wouldn't you try to model your game basing it on one of the best modern day hookers?

3. Oh yes! I forgot! Buderus plays a style EXCLUSIVE to him! In hundreds of millions of matches played since Rugby League was invented, NOBODY EVER did play like him! He's a pioneer!

Get off your high horse, you moron.

Plain and simple: you beat us in one half. I'd like to see how you Knights fans would have felt if the Knights were the best team all year round and lost the big one to a team who finished quite low on the ladder in comparison.

Quite simply, if you are passionate about your team, it hurts for a long time. Especially as, like I said, you had one of the greatest teams (statistically) of ALL TIME and still blew it.

But that doesn't matter now. What matters is our upcoming clash.

And beware. Form in previous weeks counts for NOTHING. In Rugby League, you take it one game at a time. And you'll be playing a hungry and determined Eels outfit in their own backyard.

I wouldn't be so damn confident if I were you.

BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..... Is all i have to say about that.

Johns/Kidley - Becoming the best halves combo in the comp..
BK/Simpson/Abes - Best backrow in the comp..
Tahu/Gidley - Best wing center pairing in the comp
Buderus - Best hooker in the comp
Buderus/johns - Best combination in the past 5 years atleast

We have you beat in every position all over the park.. It is great that you underrate seage a fullback... I won't bother telling you the raps on this fella...

And carmont scored 2 tries on debut against melbourne...

Oh and your Newcastle is so damn brilliant they have won the Premiership four times in the last foru years, eh?

You had one great half of football and all of a sudeen you think you were the greatest team of 2001? Please.

I am not bitter - I can admit you massacred us in the first half. But not because of that ONE game can you earn the right to call yourselves the best team in 2001.

So? Do you actually know how to read? Did you see me say that we have the best halves combo or the best centre-wing combo? No.

And I don't under-rate Seage - in fact, he's been quite impressive. If you learnt how to read and understand words put together to form phrases, you could see that all I said was that Burt had more First Grade experience and was looking in great shape.

And while Carmont may have scored two tries on debut (good on him), all I said was that Grothe is in stellar form and I personally would not like to mark up against him.

Pull your head out of Joey's huge arse and learn the basic skill of reading.

Didnt we earn it by beating you? Get over it... Look.. Can you not see.. if you were the best team then the record books would say you were the 2001 premiers and not the knights, ohhh big bloody woop if you were the best team 'statistically'... Statistically NSW players perform better all season than QLD players and how many origins have qld won? I guess we cant say we won those cause nsw had the best players 'statistically'.. I guess we arent the true ARL premiers of 1997 because we didnt 'statistically' have the best year... And yet we beat the 'statistically' best team tha year... I bet there are heaps of teams that won against the odds on grand final day and do the runner ups get rememebered? NO, just like the 2001 eels are forgotten.

The grand final is what bloody counts.. not the 26 rounds before that... We got to the grand final through gutsy wins.. The eels wen into the grand final all cocky like morons expecting an easy win.. its your fault you lost and now have nothing to show for it.. Winning the grand final makes you the best team, theres no 2 ways about it and if you delusioned eels fans want to think different then so be it, like i care, the knigths have the trophy for 2001 and you don't so ner ne f**king ner.
