From what ive heard Knights are lodging a complaint about the eels having 14 players on the field at once. The player in question is Shannon McDonnell.

He's so crap, Only Brian Smith could have come up with an inspired signing like that.

Brian Smiths problem was he thought he could work miracles with every average players and improve them. He did very well with FUI etc.

But he gets some very wrong. Kusto, Paul Carige, Shane Wherate and the list goes on etc etc

In particular Paul and Shane in the 1998 Semi against the Dogs. Crap players always get found out in pressure situations.

It's a bit rough mentioning Carige too.

He had one shocking game that is always remembered but for the most part he was decent. Certainly did some good things even if he was never going to be a superstar.

Did some great things. His solo try against Newie @ Parra was bloody amazing. Popping his dislocated shoulder back in so he could keep playing showed he was almost as tough as Stu Galbraith's little toe (which is quite an achievement, folks).

It gives me the sh*ts when Carige is crucified because of that one game. For crying out loud we were 18-2 up with 11 minutes to go. It takes a team capitulation to let go of such a lead.

It was simple errors by players who should not have been there. Carige was making those brain explosion mistakes all year but Smith kept him on. Wherrate was just a sprinter with no idea. His crucial knock on during that game was so easy to take it's not funny.

My point is players such as Mcdonnell will always be exposed in pressure situations. They may be good for 1-2 or 4 games but they will always crack under pressure or make one Stupid mistake which costs the game.
Brian Smith thinks he can rescue everyone of them and make them into something decent. He thinks he is the RSPCA....
