Knights Vs Roosters - Prelim Final '13

We are battle hardened. Our best hope. Roosters do have the fresh legs but it has over years past been a burden. They may lose pace with the game.

I'll be cheering you guys on next Saturday night, promise i won't go to the game because the Chooks usually win when i turn up, unfortunately.

As i said on the main forum i'd like to see a Souths vs Knights grand final seeing as this time both teams will have their first choice team, other than the clash this year during Origin.

I can NOT believe we are at this point after the way we played the first half of the season...

well played tonight, goobers.

despite the fact you poached half of our club, I hope you do okay in the next two weeks..

either way, want the winner of the comp to come out of the game between you and the roosters.

We beat Melbourne in Melbourne. It doesn't get any tougher than that. We can do it. We can go all the way.

I think it does get tougher this year... and the 3 teams remaining all fit in that category for mine. We gave it everything tonight. I'm massively proud of the team, but it'll be a monumental effort to now come back to Newcastle, train a bit, come down to Sydney and repeat or BETTER that performance.

Come on boys, 160 more minutes of football for Bedsy.

Agreed.

I didn't want to get my hopes too high during the week but I really had this feeling that we are a side on the up while Melbourne are starting to slide.

The Roosters and Rabbitohs are both primed, and unlike Melbourne, Manly have quality across the park.

Still feel like we are the outsiders of the four but the self-belief must be building by the day and we have the roster to do it if everything clicks.

Hopefully the fairytale run can continue. We came up against so many hoodoos tonight and prevailed in enemy territory.

Sure, Melbourne have been down on their game as of late, but were now in the best position weve ever been in for ages.

Will try and make my way to the game next week as well - anyone know roughly ballpark what the member prices will be (+does anyone know if we can secure extra tickets, or do we have to wait for the general public to open to do so???)

We have an important duty to perform for the great game of rugby league next weekend.

We need to stop the Roosters because it would be considered a travesty if Mitchell Pearce hoisted up the premiership trophy on Grand Final Day. Nothing would be abhorrent if the architect of Queenslands Origin dominance actually knew what it was like to win something.

For the good of rugby league Mitchell Pearce must be stopped.

Oh I agree, it can be done. The talent is there, especially in the back line. Tonight aside, Mullen has been great this season and Tyrone just continues to grow. They can do anything the way they are playing... as you said, it just needs to click. With their enthusiasm, belief and will to compete for how ever many minutes they need to... they can beat any team if they execute well.

Agree with your assessment of the remaining teams, too. They are all far more likely Premiers this year. I'm really excited about our trajectory as a team and club for next season, though. We're definitely on the rise.

Win or lose this season is now a massive success for us imo and something we can build on next year. I didn't think we'd beat the Dogs or the Storm so I'll just go ahead and assume we'll lose this one too.

We can beat them.
We went a bit slack 2nd half but showed guts to hang in there and keep the defense up. Might be a positive in that the Rooters might expect us to drop off a bit and we should have worked on that.

Im confident we get do the chooks, tonight it seemed like we shut up shop and tried to defend the lead instead of playing like we did in the first 2/3's of the game. Mullen may have suffered from some mental pressure tonight but Tyrone lifted when we needed him. We finally have our half that we've been looking for. Outstanding for such a young man. And wow can he tackle for such a little fella.

I want to know how many times Tyrone has intercepted an attempted grubbed on the full. At least once a game at least. He's a freak
