Knights Vs Roosters - Prelim Final '13

Roosters might have ASADA distractions this week. There's an opportunity for things to fall into place for us.

My feeling this whole finals series has been we can make the GF, I just don't know if we can win it.

Dogs and the Storm have been average this year and were ripe for the taking.

Can't say the same for the Roosters...

I'm much more confident of knocking the Roosters off then i was of beating Melbourne. Melbourne are our biggest bogey side by far - the dragons we play shit against but melb always beat us even when we are the better side. Huge win tonight.

I think though the game tonight was fast paced it wasn't necessarily really intense in the collisions compared to say what Manly have gone through. My point been we'll be battle hardened but not too bruised or out of gas. We might be able to out intense the Roosters who've had 2 weeks off.

Oh and if we get on a roll, the crowd will be a big factor. I expect two dozen buses and a few hundred car loads of Knights supporters down whatever they call the f3 these days.

My concern is the starting front rowers. I thought Mason and Fa'alogo didn't have much in the tank tonight, and we know what sort of forward pack the Roosters have.

I wonder if we can do what few teams have managed to do all season and that's capitalize on the errors the Roosters give us? They may be minor premiers, but they're still one of the most ill-disciplined sides in the competition. If Mullo can shake off tonight's game, which I think he will with the help of Wayne, then I think he and Tyrone could have one hell of a night.

We would be facing Manly if Stewart was playing IMO.

Apply massive pressure to Maloney and make Pearce step up and try to get them over the line.

We're now 4 from 4 without Snowden but if ever there was a game where we need another big body in the middle it's this one. Stop JWH's go forward and half the battle is won.

Hopefully Mullo can put a better polish to the end of the sets this week. I still don't get the dainty little high ball he continually uses. Put it high brother.

Congrats Knights.

Well done.
Deserved win against Storm.

I predicted you guys to have a good season at the start of the year.

I'll be cheering you guys on next Saturday night, promise i won't go to the game because the Chooks usually win when i turn up, unfortunately.

As i said on the main forum i'd like to see a Souths vs Knights grand final seeing as this time both teams will have their first choice team, other than the clash this year during Origin.

Maybe you should worry about Friday night mate. Don't want your team to panick and lose to an experienced Grand Finals team?

This will be sold out ten mins after tx on sale. Everyone in Newy wants in. The town is on fire with anticipation. Bring it SBW. We are going to win this. We are the new War Machine.

I'm actually feeling pretty positive about this game too.

Like the last few weeks, it's not about our opponents but how we're playing. I think we'll win this.

I'm worried. The week off would have done wonders for the Roosters and we need Tyrone to be fit to play. I do think Mullo will be back in form. After the week he's had, the amount of pressure that was on him to perform against the Storm would have been tough to handle but considering we live to fight another week, I'm sure Wayne will weave his magic to get him back in form.

Otherwise, we can match it with their forwards. We handled SBWOMG well last time and considering how much we've improved since, we can surely capitalise on the penalties they're set to give away. JWH will be the one to look out after missing the Manly game. The only forward who wasn't affected by the brutality. Otherwise, I think the rest of them can be contained.

If we took a lot of confidence out of the Dogs game, then I don't even know how much we took away last night. We done the other three sides haven't been able to do and that's beat Melbourne in Melbourne. An incredible task regardless of how poor they were. I believe that final 20 minutes we somewhat saw the Storm we're use to, just not as structured and seemed rather desperate.

Just more excited to see the halves clash. Tyrone and Mullo are quickly becoming one of the best combinations, up there with DCE and Foran and both Pearce and Maloney have had pretty good years with their Origin selections (sigh).

Tough game for sure. The Roosters are another proposition entirely.

The Dogs were is a no win situation, and we made sure they didnt win.

Melbourne were not in great shape, but they had a lot going for them. Team of champions, at home, and a mental edge over us.

The Roosters have no fear of any team in the NRL right now. We need to make them fear us early if we are any chance.

I think if we come out of the blocks like we did against Melbourne we will benefit against the Roosters. They could start slow after a week off.

I think the key is many repeat sets and playing down their end as much as possible.

I know it's a pretty general tactic, but we have to pull it off to win I think.

I can't wait a whole week for this game. I need to occupy myself well for the next 6 days to not think about this every second.

I feel like I'm getting ahead of myself though. I'm already thinking were in the GF. Big challenge ahead of us before that.

We made them poor, I'm tired of hearing everytime we beat a side that they played poorly , it really is wearing thin on me. We played better than them , end of story.

I can't do it again.

Me either. I was pounding the desk in frustration and stressed like it was ten minutes before a first date with an impossibly hot woman.

I can NOT believe we are at this point after the way we played the first half of the season...

Me either. We were brutally frustrating for about 3/4s of the season.

We beat Melbourne in Melbourne. It doesn't get any tougher than that. We can do it. We can go all the way.

I do think we overcame a lot to win last night. Melbourne are a bogey team and have an 80% win rate at home. We hadn't beaten them there since 2004 or some insanely long ago time.

Sydney, on the other hand, are a virtual home game and not a side we've got a particularly terrible history against.

If we win next week I would say we will win the Premiership , no doubt.

I think whoever wins our game wins the premiership.

We made them poor, I'm tired of hearing everytime we beat a side that they played poorly , it really is wearing thin on me. We played better than them , end of story.

This. Sick of people quickly leaping to rubbish a damn good performance by blaming it on the others. If Gus says we were great, I believe the great man.

My fear.....my biggest fear, is our ability to score points against them. Manly, one of the best attacking units in the comp couldn't get across their line last week. I've said all season that our attack lacks spark and imagination. I have no issues with our defence, that has been proven two weeks in a row. We need something special and some real input from Bennett to make this happen.

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly people go off half-cocked when it comes to their rugby league team. Roberts played very well on the weekend, yet now u r putting him and Mullen up there with the best? That will do me...

They're quickly progressing and improving each and every week. They're behind a few, but when you look at most halves combinations in the competition, it's generally one bloke doing the bulk of the work with the other simply complimenting them. That's why Manly have the best combination in the game, one doesn't do more, doesn't have a greater arsenal.

There's a difference between being the best halves in the game and having the best combination. Pearce and Maloney can be pretty bog average at times yet together they're a solid combination.
