He hasn't impressed any of the people who have posted about him this year, and merkins normally gush about anyone who hasn't played first grade, assuming that they'll carve up as soon as they get a chance in the NRL.

And consider this - unless Schulte is in our top 25 (highly unlikely) then the Cowboys almost certainly didn't want him. Not even on a second tier deal. Because if they had then why would he come to Sydney for another second tier deal? He is from Mackay. This is where the Cowboys have a huge advantage - if you want to live in North Queensland, where plenty of footy players come from, then the Cowboys are the only show in town.

So I can understand a player leaving the Cowboys for a top 25 deal (because the difference between one top 25 contract and another is potentially greater than $1M), but for a second tier deal most players are on about $80k. If the Cowboys offered only $70k, how much more would another club have to offer for most players to leave? And we're not talking about offering opportunity either, because if you're not in the top 25 there's a good chance you won't play any first grade that year.

I only saw him once Pou and he didn't look like he had any weapons. Not fast- Not strong-Not elusive etc...
I still think Toutai is the best of the backs in NSW cup. But there is not a lot between the four boys we have in Falou-Toutai-Faraimo-Tuha.
I would not be suprised if French or Fuimano are head of them in pecking order for first grade by mid year if a position become available. The four Wenty guys i doubt will ever amount to anything bar solid first grade players ( At best ) I don't see a star there.

The next good Jnrs to come thru i think are still in under 20s

he was originally a forward but the cowpats made him into a back, may have to rethink his position

He's not hard enough to play in the forwards. I think he just needs to get some confidence and unfortunately for him we have 2 very good NSW cup wingers in Faraimo and Tuha. I still believe that Schulte could be better on the wing in first grade than these two but he needs to harden up.

Talking about players regressing I see Cheyse Blair is now playing in the QLD Cup. Got to hand it to Brian Smith who thought he was shit back in 2010.

Cheyse Blair has always been shit.
He had a very bread period of averageness while on the end of a fantastic Manly backline, but apart from that he's never looked good.

Timoci Vatubuli is starting on the wing this weekend for Wenty's sydney shield team. 18 year old from Fiji, not as physically blessed as Semi from the little I've seen but gave it his all in the Newcastle trial. Will be interesting to see if he's picked up by Parra like Jack Miller was last year.

I was told you have to pay full freight because it is linked to the NRL and NYC games which is a tad unfortunate.
