Tough game against a quality and experienced Mounties side.
A few things I picked up from the game.
* Our outside backs offered little. No real spark and no confidence in defence.
* Far two many knock on and loose balls. O'Brien knocked on three times in the first half. It went on all game.
* Losing King and Morgan did not help.
* Tanginoa had a pretty quiet first half but came back for a much better second half, a lot more involvement.
* Some good touches from Gower and Ualesi although Ualesi did not look match fit.
* Mounties quick play the balls in the first half hurt us. They played with a high energy game we did not seem to be able to match.
* Nelson gave his usual whole hearted effort but he is not a five eight. Madden or Nichols would be better options.
* Cornish was solid and when he ran the ball more in the second half he looked much better.
* Pritchard had a disjointed game switching between lock and dummy half and had a bad head cut. Needed his jumper changed three times during the match.
* Cornish coped a late injury, not sure if it is serious or not?
* All in all we were not disgraced and played a better second half. We just lacked a bit in the outside backs, Nelson not the answer in the halves and were outplayed and out enthused, (in the first half), by a very good Mounties team.
